NYSC ZONINGS
It's no longer news that the new policy of the NYSC which started from 2016 Batch A orientation course now allows every corps member to choose 4 States of their choices to serve their father land of which 1 of the chosen 4 states would be selected at random by the NYSC management.
You will be asked to choose the state of your choice, but it must be a state outside your geopolitical zone.

So you can check out this for you to know where you can serve and where you are free to choose. If your own state falls under southeast, it simply means that you can’t serve in southeast.

This will guide you on what to do.

South East: 5 States

(Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo).

South South: 6 States

(Akwa-ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo, Rivers).

South West: 6 States

(Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo).

North East: 6 States

(Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba, Yobe).

North West: 7 States

(Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto, Zamfara).

North Central: 6 States

(Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nassarawa, Niger, Plateau).

NOTE: feasibility study shows that there shall be 7 geopolitical zones, which Lagos shall be referred as one, but Abuja shall be North Central Zone.

PUBLIC NOTICE

RE: NYSC CORPS MEMBER REPORTEDLY GOES INSANE AFTER FLOGGING A STUDENT

The attention of the Management of NYSC has once again been drawn to an online publication by Opera News with the above headline.

The said publication alleged that a Corps Member, Saeed Olakunle serving at Nsit Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State has gone insane after flogging a student.

The story is not only false, but lacks the rudiments of a balanced news story as the reporter neither sought the views of the State Coordinator of NYSC nor the Local Government Inspector who oversees the Corps Members in Nsit Ibom, which of course, is critical in news reporting.

It is ,therefore important to appeal to the operators of this medium to retract this publication as it portrays the good and friendly people of Akwa Ibom as fetish and instills fears in our Corps Members who have never acted contrary to school policies on standard disciplinary measures.

Most importantly, We wish to make it abundantly clear that in Nsit Ibom where the alleged Corps Member is said to be undertaking his national service, there are over 160 members and none can be identified with that name, Saeed Olakunle
The publication is indeed embarrassing to, not only the scheme, but the people of Akwa Ibom State. We, therefore urge Opera News and others to assist in projecting the laudable achievements of the scheme and her Corps Members and desist from frivolities that can cause apprehension and tension.

Thank you.
Management.

Questions and Answers on
Nysc accredited registration centres

Does NYSC have accredited centres where PCMs are mandated to do their online biometric registration?

ANSWER:
Emphatically No!
The truth is, this existed in the past but nothing as such for now.
So, there is no functional accredited centre for NYSC online registration.

Where, then, do we (the PCMs) go for online registration?

ANSWER:
Once the NYSC portal open for online registration, just go to any cyber café closest to you. So, any cyber café that can register JAMB will be good enough to register you.
Reason is because, the type of thumb print machine used in JAMB registration is the same machine required for NYSC registration.
If you have any of the JAMB acceptable thumb print machine, you can register it by yourself at home. Or you can start the registration by yourself and go to cyber café for thumb printing when you get to that stage.

Can we do the registration by ourselves?

ANSWER:
Yes, if you know how to handle internet. It is not difficult; follow simple instructions to fill in the E-form.

PUBLIC NOTICE

The attention of NYSC Management has been drawn to an online advert created by fraudsters and mischief makers aimed at deceiving and extorting Prospective Corps Members in the guise of helping them to secure choice states for their National Service and also post them to organisations of their choice with the caption; REDEPLOY OR RELOCATE TO ANY FAVOURITE STATE AND DIRECT POSTING/REDPLOYMENT.

The Management of the Scheme want to use this medium to inform all prospective Corps Members and other stakeholders to completely disregard such adverts as they don't have any link with NYSC in any form.

It is very pertinent and instructive to state that anyone found to be part of such criminal advert placement will be handed over to law enforcement agents for prosecution without delay.

Prospective Corps Members are advised to disregard such information or advert circulating round, as it is devoid of facts, unfounded and misleading.

We want to appeal to all Prospective Corps Members and other members of the public not to fall prey to the antics of fraudsters who capitalise on the innocence and ignorance of the prospective Corps Members to defraud them. Be warned.
