The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) announced that its flour supplies in Gaza have been completely depleted, following a similar announcement by the World Food Programme (WFP). Despite 3,000 aid trucks being ready, Israel continues to block humanitarian access, worsening the humanitarian crisis for Gaza’s 2.4 million residents.

The border closures since March 2 have led to severe hunger, the collapse of local food systems, and the longest aid blockade in Gaza’s history. UNRWA urged an immediate lifting of the siege, warning of escalating famine conditions.

Israel resumed its military operations in Gaza on March 18, ending a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement upheld by Hamas. The ongoing blockade and starvation policies have been described as war crimes, crimes against humanity, and acts of genocide under international law.

After being visited by his lawyer, it was revealed that prisoner Abdullah Al-Barghouti had been subjected to deliberate and systematic torture, involving severe and prolonged beatings every day with rifle butts and iron rods while handcuffed.

His body is covered with serious injuries; all his bones have suffered fractures and intense pain, leaving him unable to stand or move. He is suffering from ulcers and open wounds without any medical treatment, relying only on the help of fellow prisoners who disinfect his wounds with dishwashing liquid. Due to the fractures and pain, he is forced to sleep while sitting.

His weight has dropped by more than 50 kilograms as a result of medical negligence and the starvation policy in the prison.
