Covid-19 has sparked fear in populations across the world, and this was no exception in Singapore. In an interview with The Convergence, Minister Indranee Rajah shares the importance of staying united in the face of the pandemic and stemming the spread of fear amongst Singaporeans. Disseminating the right information, active preparation for current and future crises and government-society partnerships are some key ways to maintain a resilient Singapore. Environmental activism is becoming a buzzword in the society, where individuals and groups come together to address environmental issues. These efforts have garnered attention from people across the society regardless of age and background, where they put their minds and hearts to push for a better environment for many generations to come. In the spirit of leadership renewal, NUSPA is seeking for prospective candidates for nomination to our 46th Management Committee Strategic Positions. The nominees, if subsequently elected by the student population in elections expected to be held in Aug or Sep 2020, will hold office in AY 20/21 and lead NUSPA's 46th Management Committee. The Strategic Positions available for nominations are:

1) President
2) Vice-President (Policy)
3) Vice-President (Engagement)
4) Honorary General Secretary
5) Honorary Financial Secretary

Nomination is subjected to interview. The assessment criteria during the interview includes:

• Leadership Experiences
• Performance in NUSPA, if applicable
• Work Experiences
• Vision for NUSPA
• Other Commitments or Duties in AY 20/21

Only shortlisted applicants will be scheduled for interview.

NUS Students’ Political Association is proud to launch ReadNUS, a new initiative in partnership with NUS Libraries. Through this initiative we hope to encourage NUS students to read more and widely so as to expand their intellectual horizon and enrich their thinking on various issues.

As part of this initiative, we will be launching electronic newsletters on a bi-weekly basis to recommend thematic books of interest; a monthly book club to promote further reading and a series of events and talks to stimulate discourse. Do check out our infographic below for further details!

NUSPA has been holding interviews for candidates interested to take on Strategic Positions in the 46th Management Committee. After much deliberation, we are pleased to release the nominated candidates to undergo external elections later this year. They are as follows:

Calling all first time voters! NUS Students' Political Association (NUSPA) is making a video collage of first-time voters sharing their feelings and expectations for the upcoming General Election 2020 with fellow Singaporeans!

To be involved, make a 20-second video of yourself responding to “what does GE mean to you?” and send it to nuspa.vp.policy@u.nus.edu together with your full name and institution. You will be notified if your video is shortlisted!

Do send in your videos by 3rd July!

The project is supported by NTU Current Affairs Society and SMU Apolitical Society.
