Did you know that NUS IT was a pioneering partner in setting up Singapore’s national Computer Emergency Response Team (SingCERT) back in 1997? 👏
Together with the then Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA), in collaboration with NUS, SingCERT was established to facilitate the detection, resolution and prevention of security-related incidents on the Internet.
Today, under the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore, SingCERT continues to respond to cybersecurity incidents for its Singapore constituents. 🙌

Did you know that NUS IT was the leader in rolling out Wi-Fi roaming among Singapore’s Institutes of Higher Learning all the way back in 2004? 🤯💯
NUS IT established the first Wi-Fi roaming zone among several IHL-CIO forum members, enabling seamless wireless access to the IT resources offered by home institutes when students move from one campus to another. 📶🙌
2004 was also the year NUS IT implemented full wireless coverage for the entire NUS campus. It offered the highest performance at 54 Mbps with 1,000 wireless base stations, deployed in over 100 buildings for a strong user population of 32,000. This was one of the first large-scale deployments of 802.11g-enabled wireless networks in Asia Pacific.
