Thank you to everyone who joined CyberFest @ NUS: Where Fun Meets IT Security! 🥳
uTown came alive as students and staff had fun while they took on our mini-games, from spotting phishing traps to building stronger passwords. Those who completed all the challenges earned a sure-win spin-the-wheel prize that ranged from Grab vouchers to bITbIT plushies. That’s not all! Everyone enjoyed byte-sized treats of cotton candy and popcorn!
CyberFest may have ended, but our commitment to keeping NUS safe continues. Let us stay cyber-smart together, bIT by bIT!

Our CITO, Ms Tan Shui-Min, took the stage at the Gartner IT Symposium/Xpo™️ 2025 in Barcelona to share NUS’ AI journey with technology leaders worldwide! She highlighted how NUS is building a responsible, scalable and future-ready AI ecosystem through strong data foundations and purposeful innovation.
The session drew active engagement, with questions on how we decide when to buy or build AI capabilities and how we drive adoption across the university. The conversations continued even after the session, with participants sharing how insightful and inspiring they found NUS’ approach!
Thank you, Gartner, for the warm support and the opportunity to share and learn with the global community! ✨

Our Head of IT Security, Ang Leong Boon, spoke to over 90 cyber leaders, investors and innovators at a networking lunch, “Connecting Capital, Innovation and Cyber Leadership”, co-hosted by CyberSG TIG Collaboration Centre and IMDA.
He spoke about pragmatic perspectives that resonated with the audience at the Fireside Chat, “From Boardroom to Breach Room – How CISOs and Investors Can Align Innovation and Risk to Future-Proof the Organisation”. Sharing the stage with Stacey Wueste and moderator Eugene Lam, Leong Boon also emphasised that while Venture Capital backing offers confidence, CISOs ultimately evaluate real outcomes, not buzzwords. His reminder to always “know your enemy” echoed strongly with the audience, and his view that ransomware will continue to evolve sparked positive conversations.
We are proud to see NUS IT represented at such a meaningful platform that connects leadership, innovation and cyber resilience. A big thank you to the organisers!✨
