Zig is a general-purpose programming language and toolchain for maintaining robust, optimal and reusable software. It's often used as an alternative to C, C++, and Rust.

In this workshop, we'll cover:

- The basics of the language
- Memory management
- Data composition
- Error handling
- Zig's comptime feature

Prerequisites:
- Basic knowledge of any programming language is recommended

Vite, Rust, and the future of JavaScript tooling (Evan You🎙)
Despite being the world's most widely used language, the JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystem has long been fragmented. Unlike Rust, which has an official tool like Cargo for most workflows, JS devs rely on dozens of 3rd-party dependencies just to start a project. Vite drastically simplified the frontend workflow, and now at Void(0), we're building a Rust-based unified toolchain to do the same for the entire JS ecosystem. In this talk, we’ll discuss JS’s evolution, why we think it's time to challenge the status quo, and our progress so far.

In this talk, Herbert will demonstrate how modern big data pipelines are designed to efficiently ingest, process, transform, and distribute massive volumes of data, ranging from terabytes (TBs) to even petabytes (PBs).

Hello everyone 👋 My name is Petr and together with the Coreteam, we've worked to provide a Hackerspace for people once a week.

So far many people have showed up, some working on projects and many excitedly starting new ones 💪

🌟 Thanks to some amazing work from the Coreteam, I'm happy to announce a collaboration with the NUS Makers lab 🌟

This means that from the 12th of March our weekly Hackerspace will be held in the Makers lab. This means that if you have passed the safety quiz you can utilise the tools for your projects!

Of course you can still work on your software projects 🧑‍💻 or even work towards and pass your safety quiz to join the others using the tools in the lab.

Project Sa'Bai Computing: Integrating Technology with Healthcare Services in Cambodia (David, Peng Xuan, Isaac🎙)
Project Sa'Bai, an OCIP by NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, has improved Cambodian village healthcare since 2006 through annual screenings. In 2024, NUS Computing students collaborated with medical students to develop an EMR, serving 1,500+ patients in 7 days. This talk shares insights from leading Project Sa'Bai Computing, showcasing technology's role in frontline healthcare.

Knowledge Sharing Session on Post-Quantum Security (Teik Guan🎙)
Teik Guan will introduce quantum computing and the threats it poses. He will discuss global and local updates in post-quantum security, including ongoing pilot projects in Singapore, and he will conduct some demos of post-quantum technologies. Come prepared with questions to make the session interactive and insightful!

Machine Learning is transforming industries, from detecting financial frauds to powering AI chatbots. But what really happens behind the scenes? How does raw data become an intelligent system? In this workshop, participants will get to explore the full lifecycle of machine learning -- from collecting and preparing data to training, optimizing, and deploying models. Using Colab, participants will gain hands on experience training and running a machine learning model. Whether you are curious about AI or considering a career in machine learning, this session will try to provide you with a overall roadmap of the field and where you can fit in.

Quqi is a Quantitative Technologist in QRT, focusing on trading system development and optimization. Prior to joining QRT, he completed his Master's in Data Science and Machine Learning at the NUS.
