Wishing all our Muslim staff, students and friends Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri! 🌙
Imagine if Amazon Alexa or Siri could play a cheerful song if they hear sadness in your voice. But how do these AI systems arrive at a conclusion that you're sad? 🤔

Enter explainable artificial intelligence (XAI), an area of study that seeks to explain the results produced by machine learning algorithms. Since plenty of XAI techniques are far too technical and difficult to understand, NUS Computing Assistant Prof Brian Lim & his PhD student Zhang Wencan have made it their mission to make XAI explanations more relatable and more human-centric.
