Streaming has emerged as a crucial service during the pandemic, powering our Zoom meetings and providing entertainment to help us escape from our lockdown lives. Weβve been conditioned to expect immediacy with such tech advancements, which is why we find any streaming disruptions very annoying! ππ»To solve inconsistent video streaming, NUS Computing Assoc Prof Ooi Wei Tsang and his team developed a mathematical model called QUETRA that would calculate the best way to stream high-quality videos seamlessly.

NUS Computing freshmen taking CS1101S Programming Methodology are familiar with Forum Hours, informal sessions where students meet to share module experiences, discuss assignments, and when needed, consult a tutor. π π»
Forum Hours was suggested by CS1101S tutor Aiden Low, who wanted to improve the informal aspects of teaching and was inspired by successful teaching models that he saw during his overseas studies, particularly those he experienced at Stanford University. At these sessions, tutors are easily recognised by their CS1101S staff t-shirts, and are on hand to help students twice a week in the evenings at the study area in COM1's basement. Kudos to Aiden for contributing to the teaching and learning innovation here at NUS Computing! πͺ
