👽 🚀 Intergalactic adventures await NUS Computing freshmen when they enrol in CS1101S Programming Methodology. There, they are introduced to the fundamentals of computer programming and in the process, are transported to a whole new "world" as space cadets — a "world" comprised not just of 1s & 0s, but of spaceships and alien planets. Learn why Associate Prof Martin Henz made it his mission to make computer science more exciting for new students, and how he has accomplished that with the Source Academy.

Writing software programmes can be an immense task — the average Android phone uses 12 million lines of code, Facebook runs on 62 million, and a modern car on 100 million. Some software developers employ a neat trick: code reuse, where they take existing code and use it to build new software. NUS Computing Assoc Prof Tan Chuan Hoo studies the impact and influence tech followers have on code reuse, and the benefits of collaboration between leaders and their followers.
