The NUS Cities Symposium is back this year with its 3rd edition, happening on 3 September at the NUS University Town UTown Auditorium 2.

With the theme "How Urban Science helps Cities become more Liveable, Sustainable, and Resilient", this flagship event of the Urban Science Week 2025 and NUS Sustainability Connect will gather a community of local and international urban professionals and experts across various disciplines and sectors to examine how urban science may better our cities and improve our lives.

This interdisciplinary course examines how urban environments influence human health outcomes and explores strategies for planning and governing more equitable and healthier cities.

CDE3507 Regenerative Cities 🌎

This course introduces the concept of regenerative cities as an advanced paradigm beyond sustainability. Students will explore how cities can move from extractive to regenerative systems, enhancing resilience, biodiversity, circularity, and social inclusivity. Through lectures, field visits, design studios, and case studies, students will gain practical and theoretical skills to conceptualise and plan regenerative urban environments.

πŸ”– We are looking for students of any background who want to learn more about the following:

- the relationship between the built environment and health outcomes
- how different demographic groups use amenities and spaces
- how researchers assess the built environment through qualitative and quantitative methods
