🎉 Happy 120th Birthday, NUS! 🎂
On this day in 1905, NUS was launched as the Straits Settlements and Federated Malay States Government Medical School, a modest medical school with just 23 students. It was made possible by Mr Tan Jiak Kim, the first president of the Straits Chinese British Association, who rallied a group of businessmen to set up Singapore’s first medical college, founded by the community to serve the needs of the local community!
To celebrate our 120th, we’re sharing 🌟 “Every Hour on the Hour” 🌟 birthday greetings from around the world!
🎈 Catch the birthday wishes throughout the day on:
Facebook – facebook.com/nus.singapore
Instagram Stories – instagram.com/nus_singapore
LinkedIn – linkedin.com/school/national-university-of-singapore/
🇨🇦 The first greeting is already up — from our alumni and NUS Overseas Colleges students in Canada! 🥳
