Wisdom Loves Correction

Proverbs 9:7-8 (KJV) He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot. Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee.

The wisdom that comes from God is teachable and modest, and agreeable to God's correction and direction. In other words, a child of God knows that he does not know it all and sees his need for God's leadership and working in his life. The humble nature of a spiritually softened soul allows God to direct and correct his life with sincere love, but there is no opening for His heart and soul work for a person who hates and defies God.

A sincerely wise child of God loves and expects God's chastening and approval, while a lost soul wants to go in his direction and will apart from God.
