Professor Mikhail Yuryevich Kirov represented the Federation of Anaesthesiologists and Reanimatologists of Russia at the annual congress of the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine.
The annual congress of the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine (ESAIC) took place in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, on 6–8 June 2026. The congress brought together more than 3 500 delegates not only from Europe but also from many other countries.
🔹 A key event of the congress was the ESAIC Council and Assembly, which involved national societies of anaesthesiologists, including the Federation of Anaesthesiologists and Reanimatologists (FAR) of Russia. The FAR was represented by its President, Professor Mikhail Yuryevich Kirov, Head of the Department of Anaesthesiology and Reanimatology at NSMU.
At these events, reports from the ESAIC governing bodies were heard and adopted, and elections for the ESAIC President were held.
🔹 The main congress programme included presentations by leading anaesthesiologists‑reanimatologists, attendance at seminars and round‑table discussions, masterclasses addressing key issues in anaesthesiology and intensive care, exchange of ideas and results of recent research, improvement of practical skills on various simulation platforms, as well as networking and collaboration with colleagues.
🔹 In parallel with the main programme, the congress hosted an exhibition featuring a range of medical companies, where attendees could learn about new developments in the field of perioperative medicine.
🔹 Alongside other Russian colleagues, Mikhail Yuryevich Kirov delivered a presentation, sharing the research results of the team from the Department of Anaesthesiology and Reanimatology at NSMU, which focused on the diagnosis of mesenteric thrombosis.

The Northern State Medical University and the Arkhangelsk Blood Transfusion Station were awarded diplomas as participants of the special project “Donorship Unites”.
On June 8, 2026, a conference titled “Unity Technologies as Drivers for the Development of Blood and Bone Marrow Donation in the Russian Federation” was held at the TASS press centre as part of the special project “Donorship Unites” and the All‑Russian campaign “Donor Code. Unity of the Peoples of Russia”. The event was organised by the National Foundation for Healthcare Development.
🔹The event summarised the results of the special project and honoured its participants — Blood Service institutions from various regions of our country, donors, and volunteers. Each participant showcased the unique features of the donor and volunteer movement in their respective region.
The outcome of this work is the unification of the donor and volunteer movements, achieved through the competent and structured work of the Blood Service institutions of the Russian Federation. Thanks to these efforts, medical organisations receive the necessary and safe blood components in a timely manner.
🔹 Sergey Viktorovich Bobovnik, Chief Physician and Assistant at the Department of Anesthesiology and Resuscitation of the NSMU, represented the Arkhangelsk Blood Transfusion Station. He spoke about the integration of two projects in the region: “Donor Code. Unity of the Peoples of Russia” and “Year of the Culture of the Russian North”.
🔹 Many active participants of the project were awarded special prizes and diplomas. Among them were the Arkhangelsk Blood Transfusion Station and the Northern State Medical University.

Students and residents of the Northern State Medical University (NSMU) took part in a training masterclass on the use of stapling devices in colorectal surgery, led by a renowned surgical oncologist.
The masterclass was hosted at the N.A. Semashko Northern Medical Centre. At the invitation of Vladimir Alexandrovich Kislov — Head of the Department of General Surgery at NSMU and Head of the Surgical Service at the Centre — the famous surgeon, oncologist, and coloproctologist, Professor Arsen Osmanovich Rasulov, Head of the Oncocoloproctology Department at the Lapino Oncological Centre, came to Arkhangelsk for the first time.
During the practical session, he performed two complex surgeries: the first one for a colon tumour, and the second for a rectal tumour. Practising physicians, as well as students and residents of the Northern State Medical University, followed the renowned surgeon’s work via video link from the conference hall.
In addition to demonstrating practical skills, Arsen Osmanovich delivered lectures to the masterclass participants on the use of stapling devices in laparoscopic surgery and techniques for forming anastomoses in colorectal procedures.

На факультете сестринского образования состоялось торжественное вручение наград победительнице II Всероссийского конкурса среди медицинских и фармацевтических колледжей в номинации «Студент года» Алёне Шаховой.
С победой Алёну поздравил декан факультета Владимир Александрович Плаксин:
Кроме основных наград студентка получила призы от генерального спонсора Всероссийского конкурса. С победой её поздравил директор отдела развития розничного бизнеса ВТБ Андрей Владимирович Хлуднев.

An award ceremony was held at the Faculty of Nursing Education to honour Alena Shakhova, the winner of the 2nd All‑Russian Competition among medical and pharmaceutical colleges in the “Student of the Year” category.
Dean of the Faculty Vladimir Alexandrovich Plaksin congratulated Alena on her victory:
In addition to the main awards, the student received prizes from the general sponsor of the All‑Russian Competition. Andrey Vladimirovich Khludnev, Director of Retail Business Development at VTB, also congratulated her on her success.
