πŸ“’ Lower Season Parking Charges for Eligible Commercial Vehicles from 1 August 2026

We're pleased to see a positive change that will benefit our combi bus drivers.

From 1 August 2026, HDB and URA will lower season parking charges for commercial vehicles with an unladen weight of 1,801kg to 2,000kg, aligning them with passenger car rates. This applies to eligible vehicles with registration prefixes G, C, P and Y.

This is a welcome development. Over the years, NPHVA has consistently raised the issue of season parking affordability with the relevant authorities, highlighting that some commercial vehicles used by private hire drivers were paying significantly higher charges despite their similar size and usage.

This improvement will help reduce operating costs for eligible drivers and is a meaningful step in the right direction. We'll continue engaging stakeholders to advocate for policies that support the livelihoods of P2P drivers.

NPHVA is deeply saddened to learn of the recent passing of the 66-year-old private hire driver, who succumbed to injuries sustained following an assault by a passenger last year.

NPHVA extends our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. Our thoughts are with them as they cope with this immense loss.

The Association strongly condemns all acts of violence against point-to-point drivers. Drivers dedicate themselves each day to serving the commuting public, and they deserve to be treated with dignity, respect, and to carry out their work in a safe environment.

NPHVA is of the view that offences of this nature warrant severe punishment. We hope that a sentence commensurate with the gravity of the offence will be imposed.

The safety and well-being of drivers will always remain an important priority. NPHVA will continue working with stakeholders to advocate for measures that strengthen protections for point-to-point drivers and support a safer working environment for all.

Our thoughts are with the driver's family and all those affected by this tragic incident.

πŸŽ‰ Thank you for joining us at the 5th edition of our Platform Workers Appreciation Day at Fernvale CC!

It was great connecting with platform workers and we appreciate everyone who took the time to drop by.

We were pleased to have NTUC Secretary-General Brother Ng Chee Meng at the event, where he connected with platform workers and heard about their experiences and concerns.

Throughout the event, our team also had the opportunity to chat with members, share the latest membership benefits and initiatives, and respond to your queries. Thank you to everyone who reached out and shared your feedback with us! It helps shape our ongoing work and engagements with the industry.

🚨 LTA and NPHVA Continues Enforcement Efforts Against Illegal Cross-Border Ride-Hailing

NPHVA continues to work closely with LTA by sharing information and feedback on suspected illegal cross-border ride-hailing activities that affect the livelihoods of licensed drivers.

In a recent enforcement operation, 16 drivers were caught providing illegal cross-border ride-hailing services at the land checkpoints and downtown area, and all their vehicles were impounded.

We thank members who continue to alert us to suspected illegal activities. Your feedback plays an important role in supporting enforcement efforts and helping to uphold a fair operating environment for licensed drivers.

⚠️ Drivers caught providing illegal ride-hailing services may face fines of up to S$3,000 and/or 6 months' imprisonment, with the possibility of their vehicles being forfeited.

β›½ Driver Fee Extended Until 30 September 2026

Following NPHVA’s continued engagements with platform operators on drivers’ operating costs, CDG Zig, Grab, Gojek, and TADA will be extending their Driver Fee / fuel support measures until 30 September 2026.

The Driver Fee was first introduced in 2022 to help drivers manage rising fuel costs. Importantly, these fees are passed on fully to drivers and do not attract platform commission.

At NPHVA, we continue to bring members’ feedback and concerns directly to the table through our regular engagements with platform operators, advocating for practical measures that support drivers on the ground.

🚘🚌 Catching Up with Our Limousine & Combi-Bus Drivers

NPHVA was back on the ground catching up with our limousine and combi-bus driver members. This time, we met at Bras Basah Food Court, where we connected over drinks in a cosy setting β˜•.

The session allowed drivers to share their experiences, feedback and concerns, helping NPHVA better understand the issues they face in the industry πŸ’¬.

We also shared updates on the latest membership benefits and initiatives available to support our members in their journeyπŸ’ͺ.

A big thank you to all the drivers who took the time to join us πŸ™. These conversations help us stay connected with the community and continue working towards providing relevant and meaningful support for drivers ❀️.
