Supporting LTA in Curbing Illegal Cross-Border Rides
We continue to work closely with the LTA to protect the livelihoods of licensed drivers.
Following regular tip-offs from NPHVA and our partners, enforcement operations at land checkpoints recently led to 5 vehicles being impounded for providing illegal cross-border ride-hailing services.
Since July 2025, more than 3,200 vehicles have been checked as part of ongoing enforcement efforts.
We thank LTA for their firm action and partnership in keeping the industry fair and safe for all. Licensed drivers work hard to comply with regulations — illegal operators undermine both safety and livelihoods.
If you encounter suspected illegal ride-hailing activities, do report them via the official LTA channels.

We have received feedback from drivers that some trips are reflecting a $5.30 payout, despite the earlier joint announcement between NPHVA and Grab that the minimum trip start fare would be adjusted to $5.80 nett (inclusive of driver fee).
We are currently seeking clarification and checking directly with Grab to understand the discrepancy. Fair and transparent implementation is important, and we will ensure that drivers’ concerns are properly addressed.

Update: Thanks for sharing your feedback. Grab has rectified the issue and will ensure all affected drivers are compensated accurately. Affected drivers can expect the necessary corrections to be processed within the week, and we will continue monitoring to ensure payouts are made accurately.
