It’s the Great Ardisia (Ardisia purpurea), a native species that is usually found in clusters of 4 to 10. Each flower is only 1 cm long and up to 1.7 cm wide.
#Funfact – its name ‘Ardisia’ refers to the plant’s pointed anthers while ‘purpurea’ means ‘purple-coloured’ referring to the colour of its flowers.

Record seizure of rhinoceros horns in Singapore
On 8 Nov, NParks and the Airport Police Division of the Singapore Police Force were alerted by SATS, an air cargo handler at Singapore Changi Airport, to four suspicious packages that were bound for Laos.
Upon inspection, 20 rhinoceros horns (35.7 kg) and around 150 kg of other animal parts were discovered and seized by NParks. This is Singapore's largest-ever rhino horn seizure to date, surpassing the previous record of 34.7 kg in 2022.
Singapore takes a zero-tolerance stance on the illegal trade of endangered wildlife species, and their parts and derivatives. Here’s how you can help:
