Sometimes, practitioners of Dharma can find comfort in the idea of continuation past this life.
We could look at the nihilists/materialists with pity for the stress and suffering caused by their extreme view of mortal annihilation.

This is a wrong view. Wrongful imputations on yet another extreme. Endless rounds of suffering since beginningless time should foster renounciation and a sense of urgency. Knowing that if we don't make use of our current situation, why would the next life be any different in a positive sense?

The aspiring buddha will be like the nihilists, in that he will consider this his last rebirth.

“Apart from this, the teachings that the state of liberation results from accumulating much karma from one life to another are effec­tive for bringing about temporary happiness in the minds of beings, but enlightenment in this way is extremely difficult. Consider that such teachings may have a merely provisional meaning.”

".. Look at the power of his heroic samadhi! Although he demonstrated the deeds of a buddha, from entering the womb up to buddhahood and nirvana, he never cast aside the nature of a bodhisattva and never completely passed into parinirvana.”

Mahakashyapa then said to Manjushri, “It must be difficult for you to demonstrate such inconceivable deeds!”

Manjushri replied, “All dharmas are fabricated by causes and conditions, and are without self. Therefore one can accomplish whatever one wants to. For someone who has seen the truth, there is no difficulty in this whatsoever.”

If now, at this time, you do not practice the complete and unmistaken path and do not accomplish all your aims, when you lie on your deathbed, sipping a drop of water as your last nourishment and taking your last breath, nothing at all can help you. Thus from this very moment on, you must put effort into practice and give yourself a reason to have confidence.

Those who share in your suffering will become your soldiers. In return, be their uniting banner towards liberation.

Those that share your needs, will be your benefactors. Be a hero that feeds on feeding the many.

Whatever you may value, is valuable to many, however fringe or niche. Find ways to make this joy of yours available to others.

You silently think that what’s on your heart is reason for its loneliness, for your ears don’t hear a word in its likeness. Sincerely confess your secrets together with your shame. Become the first to end this loneliness of others.

What is worse; death, shame or a lifetime in fear until both come true?🙉🙈🙊

Meditation.
Alert, vigilant, wide awake. Indestructible, immovable, solid space.
Fearlessly confronting whatever arises.
Awareness devours every delusion.

Sinn is whatever deed, eventually remaining only as regret.
