I'm not merely talking about the material either.
Life, even reality is a love story. Without bliss there can be no recreation.

Life as a love story.

When we look at the life cycles of animals, we see something like a mythological epic journey repeated over and over.

The sea turtles begin their life as hatchlings on beaches, and return to that same beach to lay eggs.

Salmon are born up-river and begin their life following the stream into the ocean. returning to that exact spot, where they are hunted by bears, seals and birds of prey. Fight other salmon, first for a mate and then to protect their mating spot. The males literally cums to death, so does the females.

Bald eagles, have their famous death spiral dance.

If this isn't epic love stories I don't know what is. I find it very spiritual. We all are born of father and mother, into a story we don't really understand. It is easy to look at animals, fungi and plants and see beginning, middle and end. But when we look at ourselves, we are still moving, so it's hard to grasp the mystery.

Anyways I think it's pretty cool. Especially when we question were the story begins and ends.

The renouncing of heaven and hell: Path to bliss.

Everyone is the same in that they want happiness and does not want suffering. They seek this according to their own understanding of what is good and right, so naturally these expression of desire are as diverse as they're. Failure to understand this is the cause of conflict.
We can all tell from direct experience that good deeds yield good. We all appreciate kindness and we all enjoy feeling valued.

And by being of benifit to others through a diversity of good deeds we naturally attain many causes for bliss, each in accordance with the bliss they yield others. No matter if this is the products of friends, artists, builders, fathers or writers.
The echo of these deeds, let's call it biproducts. Are effects like renown, money, respect, peace, loyal friends, adoration, devotion, attractiveness, competence and influence. People wants to support you.

And from the grace of general compassion, just as natural, we receive a divine protection from being harmed by poisons, weapons, violence, harmful spirits, proverty and neglect. Freedom from conflict. Who would even think of harming someone they like? Someone who is benifiting them? Not even a psychopath would harm such a person.

When we are of benifit to other beings we feel bliss. Even if it hurts us in the process, we enjoy a 'divine pride' from self sacrifice. All pure bliss is indeed selfless, it is laughing together, smiling together, working together, enjoying together and even sleeping together.
This bliss is a pure bliss, a bliss that leaves a feeling of contentment, resolution and wellbeing.
The reward from self grasping however, is not a bliss at all. It is a misunderstanding of bliss, suffering and it's causes that is acted upon. It doesn't releave the suffering, that is desire, but instead leave us and potentially others in the same state of suffering as before without anything being resolved.
This is hell.
Why? Because this ignorant volition is not acting in accordance with reality but rather with our misguided ideas of ourselves and reality. Like grasping for the biproducts, the echoes from the blissful rewards of sincere grace. Seeking power, money, pleasure and fame for its own empty sake without being worthy and without having any good use for it.

Both of these are fundamentally born from compassion. But bad deeds are the result from misunderstanding this. It is the root of shame, loneliness, conflict, paranoia, regret and stress. And leave us attached, guilty and in need of redemption. It perverts our view of ourselves and of others by our tendency to project.
Ignorance is the cause of suffering.

When someone has a desire to be right. Or to be validated for what he knows or thinks. It often leads to conflict. But it is an expression of the desire to to be of benifit to others, by the things we know and think.
The same root for jealousy, it is a misunderstanding of our innate will to be of benifit.
We fail to understand that these good qualities that is objects of envy, for instance beauty, charm and skill is not something that is enjoyed by the one that possess them but to the one receiving the benifit. So if people recieve joy and benifit from a person, naturally their popularity and wealth increase. The holder of the quality however only gets to taste the joy of the receiver. That's why we should rejoice in them, how foolish it is to be provoced instead.

The path to bliss in this life, is the same as the path to heaven in next. Doing good.
So regardless if there is a heaven or not, if there is any continuum after death of this body. The only path that yields any fruit at all is still this path of the holy, the bodhisattva, the saint, or what we can say in the profound and simple language of everyday;

The path of being a sincerely good person.
