Hey animals - Being a small team means sometimes we'll need a bit of extra time if life gets in the way of things. We do our best to minimize this, but right after the convention this past weekend our shop dog and best friend took a turn for the worse with his health and our family is saying goodbye to him today. If you've ever had a little piece of dog fuzz stuck to a t-shirt in your order, it was probably from him. (And oops, sorry.) If you've ever had our Good Dogs design, he's the boofer with the blue collar. We're gunna miss him so much.

Rather than trying to work through it after the convention we're taking a few days to regroup. Don't fret about any email correspondences, we will be getting to them later this week and accommodating any address changes, size changes, exchanges and general customer service inquiries.

What do the founders of Nomad Complex and Costco have in common? The price of hot dogs will be raised over their dead bodies.

As everyone knows, tariffs are hitting the markets which is providing a lot of uncertainty to customers. It is also when a lot of corporations are going to use them as an excuse to jack up their prices. The reality is that these tariffs will mostly affect small businesses, particularly when it comes to rising costs. It's not just a blanket tax on consumer goods - The supply chain process of how we manufacture and ship our items are caught in the crosshairs as well. It would take a 45 minute deep dive to explain just how much the process from conception to fulfilment would be for our clothing. Costs are on the rise, and margins will become slimmer. That being said;

In a time where everything is changing at such a rapid pace, we've discussed the rising costs and tariffs internally and are making the following commitment - We will not now, nor in the near future, be increasing our prices to pass off any new costs to our customers. Order fulfilment will continue as it has previously. Any associated tariffs or increased costs will be paid for by us as long as we have control over this option. No one in North America will be required to pay anything additional to receive their items, either at checkout or at delivery. That is our commitment to YOU.

To help offset some of this, we are planning to establish a Patreon that will contain weekly updates, behind the scenes looks, lore and much more to give anyone who wishes to join an inside look at our operation! It's going to include blog posts, feature lots about the history of our company, the why and how of our decision making, Q+A livestreams, and much more content. There will be no obligations to join, it will just be a little spot to chip in for anyone who would like to or is able!

Community and visibility are going to be more important than ever going forward. At Nomad we like to think that every shirt we send out is a virtual hug we're giving to members of our community who need one most. So the more hugs we can give, the better.

⭐️UNDERWEAR RETURNS TO NOMAD COMPLEX - MAY 29TH!⭐️

As some of you know - and more importantly many of you do NOT know - we handed over our cuts and patterns to a new underwear brand - SYS Undies - with the intention of allowing them to go in a more adult direction while keeping the spaces between the two entities separate from one another.

After LOTS of feedback, we have decided to reverse course and instead integrate SYS into the home base of Nomad Complex.

✅SYS Undies will continue to operate its own Telegram channel and social media channels (@SYSUndies) - So you can continue to share/post whatever you like in an adult space without crossing over into the other!

❕ATTN: USA Customers!❕

The De Minimis Exemption is going away on August 29th, 2025 via an executive order signed on July 30th, 2025.

This means that as of this posting, any customers in the USA will have from now until August 28th to place orders before we are forced to shut down orders to your country.

What is the De Minimis Exemption?

The De Minimis Exemption is a rule that allows any low value packages of $800 USD or less entering the United States from a different country to bypass the need for formal customs clearance, and therefore enter the country “duty-free”. This allows U.S. customers to receive items from a different country much faster and cheaper.

What does this mean for you?

1. On August 28th and onward, we will no longer be able to accept orders from customers in the United States. Given the volatility of a sad little man who changes his mind as often as he changes his diaper, we cannot receive clear instructions on how to navigate these new changes from any carrier. We will need to shut down orders and assess the new rules as they are implemented. Please note that we hope this is as temporary as can be, but can offer no guarantees.

2. As of August 29th, all US-bound shipments will require a formal customs clearance. The problem is that right now, it is unclear if merchandise purchased past August 29th can still be shipped to the United States duty-free as per the USMCA agreement on all Mexican and Canadian manufactured goods. As we cannot get a clear answer on this, we will be forced to pause US-bound orders placed August 28th and beyond.

If USMCA compliant goods do end up being duty free, they will still require a formal customs clearance but will not have any other associated costs for the customer. The clearance costs will be covered by us.

Please note that if this does end up being the case, we will able to relist Graphic Clothing and Stickers ONLY as our underwear, gaming mats, enamel pins and wristbands are manufactured outside of the USMCA allied countries.

tl;dr - USA shipments will be cut off on August 28th. Best case scenario, we are able to open orders back up shortly after for Graphic Clothing and Stickers only.

Please note that all of this is subject to changing on a dime, and we will do our best to keep you as informed as we are about these changes as they come up. We know that no one enjoys this sort of volatility, and the chances of TACO happening are real, please remember we are presenting facts as we have them available to us to the best of our ability.

Fittingly, we were able to squeeze in one more run of Path of Most Resistance into the works for next week, just got the word like 15 minutes ago. Any orders with this design placed after this messages posting will ship next week Monday-Tuesday!

Due to a quickly shifting landscape, the last date we can accept any American-bound orders is going to be August 23rd at 11:59pm. Any orders placed before this time will be duty-free, or we will cover the costs associated with them, guaranteed.

Right now our staff is working around the clock and sleeping at the office to get all of your orders shipped as soon as they come in. We'd also like to stress that while we love our furry merchandise, please make sure you prioritize your basic needs above all else over any last minute purchases. Quick summary: The problems being created by the new trade regulations imposed by the USA are sowing worldwide confusion, including within the USA itself, as systems are not in place to determine how to handle these new implementations. As a result, many major corporations and mail carriers are suspending shipments to the USA.

As of this posting, as Canadians utilizing our current carrier, we are greenlit for business as normal until the end of day Saturday.

Today it was announced that several major corporations such as eBay and Etsy would be suspending US-bound shipments on August 25th due to the De Minimis exemption going away on August 29th.
