Hi everyone. Nomad Complex is a Canadian company, which means that some rough things are going on right now, the worst of which just fell in our lap.

As of February 4th in.. some time in the afternoon I guess, Section 321 has been abruptly revoked. Until further notice, Nomad Complex will be offline while we figure out what path forward we can take to fulfill our orders. As of now, we have no viable options. I've taken the time to outline where things stand as best as I can on our website, so please feel free to take a look. We will be keeping this as updated as possible as we learn more information and find alternative solutions for fulfilment, including what Section 321 is and the Two-Faced pre-order status. We are so sorry for this abrupt announcement.

The reinstatement is expected to be temporary which means Section 321 may go into effect with little notice at any time. Our promise to you if that no fees, tariffs, or other bullshit will be touching your folks' orders - What you see at the checkout is what you get.

Hey guys, with the tariff bullshit upon us I just want to let everyone know that anything from Nomad Complex is currently unaffected by the rules set in place today, as the De Minimis exemption is still in place.

I just want to give everyone a brief overview of what has gone on so that we can help folks understand things better.

1. On March 4th at 12:01am, a 25% tariff was placed on all goods being purchased from the United States to be imported from Canada. We all know what tariffs are by now - They are a tax paid by the importing country to the country of export. This cost is almost always passed on to the consumer and causes inflation.

2. What is the De Minimis exemption? The De Minimis exemption is an exemption on any goods that enter the United States from another country with a value of $800 or lower. This means that anything you purchase from us or other furry companies outside the USA will not be subject to any additional duties, taxes or import fees of any kind, either from you OR the sellers.

Right now, it is "Business as usual". Nothing has changed for us or other online purchases under $800 USD. Any purchases you make from us or other furry vendors will not incur any duties, either for you as the customer or us as the business owners.

3. Is the De Minimis exemption going to stick around? We don't know. Like everything this dipshit administration does, it's constantly up in the air and causing turmoil for millions who rely on cross-border commerce for their careers. Right now, De Minimis is currently "On the chopping block, and it won't be suspended until systems are in place to manage the infrastructure of inspecting the newly imported packages"

For reference, last year 3.8 million packages PER DAY entered the USA. So we are talking about the infrastructure to inspect and gather duties on over a billion packages per year.

To summarize, as of right now we are business as normal and no we are not paying anything extra to ship your packages either. We, like everyone else, don't know if this will change on a whim but I'll keep you posted if it does!

Hey animals - Being a small team means sometimes we'll need a bit of extra time if life gets in the way of things. We do our best to minimize this, but right after the convention this past weekend our shop dog and best friend took a turn for the worse with his health and our family is saying goodbye to him today. If you've ever had a little piece of dog fuzz stuck to a t-shirt in your order, it was probably from him. (And oops, sorry.) If you've ever had our Good Dogs design, he's the boofer with the blue collar. We're gunna miss him so much.

Rather than trying to work through it after the convention we're taking a few days to regroup. Don't fret about any email correspondences, we will be getting to them later this week and accommodating any address changes, size changes, exchanges and general customer service inquiries.

What do the founders of Nomad Complex and Costco have in common? The price of hot dogs will be raised over their dead bodies.

As everyone knows, tariffs are hitting the markets which is providing a lot of uncertainty to customers. It is also when a lot of corporations are going to use them as an excuse to jack up their prices. The reality is that these tariffs will mostly affect small businesses, particularly when it comes to rising costs. It's not just a blanket tax on consumer goods - The supply chain process of how we manufacture and ship our items are caught in the crosshairs as well. It would take a 45 minute deep dive to explain just how much the process from conception to fulfilment would be for our clothing. Costs are on the rise, and margins will become slimmer. That being said;

In a time where everything is changing at such a rapid pace, we've discussed the rising costs and tariffs internally and are making the following commitment - We will not now, nor in the near future, be increasing our prices to pass off any new costs to our customers. Order fulfilment will continue as it has previously. Any associated tariffs or increased costs will be paid for by us as long as we have control over this option. No one in North America will be required to pay anything additional to receive their items, either at checkout or at delivery. That is our commitment to YOU.

To help offset some of this, we are planning to establish a Patreon that will contain weekly updates, behind the scenes looks, lore and much more to give anyone who wishes to join an inside look at our operation! It's going to include blog posts, feature lots about the history of our company, the why and how of our decision making, Q+A livestreams, and much more content. There will be no obligations to join, it will just be a little spot to chip in for anyone who would like to or is able!

Community and visibility are going to be more important than ever going forward. At Nomad we like to think that every shirt we send out is a virtual hug we're giving to members of our community who need one most. So the more hugs we can give, the better.
