Kickstarter FAQ!

With the upcoming launch, we just wanted to provide you with a quick little FAQ about how Kickstarter works if you are not familiar with it!

1. Why Kickstarter? - Kickstarter serves several different functions in the crowdfunding space. For our purposes, this is strictly a pre-order system. This means that you select what items you want, and then we send you those items after the campaign period. Unlike other campaigns where you are funding "ideas", our idea is already done - There is zero risk involved. You pay for the items, you get the items. This also means selling out is impossible.

Using Kickstarter also allows us to be transparent with the funds - Everybody will be able to see how many pledges we get, how much capital we've raised, and what capital is used for. It also, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, gives us crucial info for the business going forward; how many of y'all are there.

2. How will I pledge? - When the project goes live, there will be several tiers to choose from. The first three tiers are simple - A t-shirt or tank top, a long sleeve t-shirt, or a pullover or zip hoodie. If you'd like to create your own bundle of clothes, select these tiers and on the next page you'll be able to add on whatever garments you like! There are also 4 pre-set tiers if you are indecisive!

3. How do I pick the designs/sizes I want? - You will be picking the design and size of your garments at the END of the campaign. Once the campaign is over, we'll be sending out surveys where you'll be able to include which garments you want to receive!

4. Important note on pledging/payment! - If you haven't used Kickstarter please note the following; You can pledge at ANY time during the campaign between January 13th to February 18th. However please be aware that your card will NOT be charged until the campaign is successfully completed on February 18th! So even if you don't plan to pay on, for example, January 13th you can still pledge and will not be charged!

This is actually kind of nutty. We got chosen as one of Kickstarters "Projects We Love" campaigns.

This means that this campaign basically gets max visibility and recommendations across the Kickstarter platform and lets everyone know hey, these guys are cool, go support them. During Further Confusion, our good friends at Rudderbutts were stopped at the border on the way up from Mexico to vend at their first ever American convention. They were held up, detained and ultimately refused entry, being sent back to Mexico. (Good ol' racism.)

We know first hand what it's like trying to cross the border and having xenophobic high-school-bullies-turned-authority-figures overextend their power cluelessly over situations they don't understand, and to be turned away at the border despite the financial and travel burden. It truly makes vending as non-Americans in America difficult when the border guards are incompetent about what constitutes proper paperwork.

Please consider supporting these folks, even if it means putting a pause in, or rescinding a pledge from us. These guys deserve it. Their product, branding, and community are top notch and we're lucky to have them. Oh and the people running it are really fucking cool so there's that.

Good morning! The campaign is already off to an insane start, so our manufacturer asked if we could do a little bit of field research so we can prepare for the purgatory that is going to be putting all of these clothes into production!

The following poll is optional, but we're just looking for a general idea of what folks might be planning on choosing once the campaign is over and the survey is complete!

-Go ahead and choose as many options as you pledged for! So if you pledged for 3 t-shirts, you can select all 3 designs.

Wow. We hit the 400% goal already? That's absolutely insane. So let's talk about what that means! As a reminder, all funding from this project is going towards rebuilding; we're not paying ourselves until we're back open.

At the 250% funding tier, we were set to re-open Nomad Complex and resume business on June 1st. A fantastic milestone. At this funding tier, we would be able to re-open our store with designs from this project as well as maybe 1 or 2 new items. This would only encompass the graphic work that we do - T-shirts, Tanks, Hoodies, and anything with the large graphic prints.

At the 400% funding tier, we are now able to open with a much WIDER variety of stock than the previous tier. This means not only will we be able to fund some additional designs, but we'll also be adding the following come June 1st;
