A truck carrying drones exploded, reportedly in Russia's Amur region. It is unclear whether the explosion occurred before or after the drones were launched.
More details about the SBU operation today:
According to Ukrainian sources, 41 strategic and military transport aircraft were targetted across four Russian airbases. Some drones executed autonomous target guidance, with damage assessments ongoing through satellite imagery.
An SBU agent group smuggled 150 small attack drones and 300 munitions into Russia. Of these, 116 drones were launched, controlled via Russian telecom networks employing autonomous guidance. Multiple mobile drone launch sites were established near Russian strategic aviation bases.
The drones struck at close range in broad daylight deep inside Russian territory. Despite substantial air defense—SAM systems, electronic warfare, and patrols armed with firearms—Russian forces expected night strikes from large drones, not small daytime quadcopters.
The attack on the Tu-95 strategic bomber base at Olenya was especially effective, with drones precisely targeting fuel tanks and destroying numerous aircraft completely.

Ukrainian drones have been spotted, reportedly in the skies near Ivanovo Severny Air Base, home to Russia’s 144th Airborne Early Warning Aviation Regiment. There are rumors which suggest an A-50 AEW&C aircraft may have been struck, though this remains unconfirmed.

Personally, I’m seeing a lot of hype about 40 destroyed Russian strategic aircraft, but from what’s actually confirmed on visual evidence, it’s more like 7 or 8. Sure, the real number could be higher, but without fresh satellite imagery or new solid footage, it’s all guesswork. For now, the "40 strategic aircraft" story is a myth.

A Ukrainian official has confirmed to Axios that Ukraine provided advance notice to the Trump administration regarding today's attack on Russian airbases.
Were they or weren’t they? According to CBS News, Washington wasn’t informed in advance by Ukraine about today’s operation, contrary to what Axios reports.
It’s highly likely that Ukraine also intended -but failed- to target Ukrainka Air Base in Russia’s Amur region today. In a photo featuring SBU chief Malyuk, a map of Ukrainka is clearly visible.
Earlier, footage emerged of a burned-out trailer—reportedly carrying drones—in the Amur region. It’s very possible these were meant for an attack on Ukrainka, one of Russia’s largest long-range strategic aviation bases in the Far East.

Speaker of Ukraine’s Parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk, on the strikes on Russian airbases: “A modern version of the Budapest Memorandum—in action.”
He called the SBU’s brilliant Operation “Pavutyna” a step toward ensuring the aggressor state’s non-nuclear status. No target is too far when you’re defending your land.
