Overnight, Russia launched a Shahed drone attack (as usual). Out of 16 Shahed drones, 15 were shot down by regular air defense and the last one was supressed by electronic warfare. One downed drone damaged the property of a company.

Fico's statement about halting electricity supplies won't affect Ukraine, says Alexander Kharchenko, Director of the Energy Research Center.

"Ukraine can receive up to 2.1 GW of electricity from the EU via Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, and Romania. If one country refuses, the other three can supply the necessary volume," he noted.

On December 26, the Ukrainian Air Force and other forces, struck a fortified Russian military site in the Oryol region. The strike destroyed a secure storage, maintenance, and repair facility for Shahed kamikaze drones, consisting of multiple reinforced concrete structures, Ukraine's General Staff confirms.

Russian "experts" on Russian propaganda television expect that Ukraine will launch a new offensive in 6-7 days.

"Now the Ukrainian side has prepared three options where to organize such an offensive. One zone is Bryansk, Bryansk region. The second zone is Zaporizhzhia. And the third, the most difficult for us, is a possible new breakthrough in the Kursk region, expansion..."

Stopping Russian gas transit poses a missile strike threat to Ukraine’s gas pipeline system, warns Bloomberg.

"Ukraine must consider the need to protect its 38,600 km gas network, one of the world's largest. It has avoided attacks for three years as Russian gas flowed through it. Without transit, it could become a target, like storage facilities and power sources," the report states.

The 10 Mountain Assault Brigade, RAROG UAV unit and adjacent forces destroyed several pieces of Russian equipment. Among them a bukhanka vehicle, a D-20 howitzer and two BMP's.

🔥 A blast destroyed Russian freight cars at Voskresensk railway station in Moscow region, according to Ukraine's GUR. The explosion occurred on December 27, 2024, at 1:00 AM. The cars were used for Russian military logistics.

China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan have started building a railway bypassing Russia. The new route will connect China to the EU via Central Asia, cutting delivery times by 7 days and boosting the region's role as a transit hub.

Zelensky accuses Fico of trying to open a second energy front against Ukraine, undermining Slovakian interests.

"His threats to cut electricity supply during winter attacks Ukraine's power grid and puts Slovakia at risk of losing vital energy compensation. Supporting Russia’s aggression is immoral. Fico’s short-sighted politics will harm Slovakia and its people," he said.
