Despite speculation over his future, the dismissal of Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi is not currently being discussed, according to 24 Kanal sources in Ukraine’s Defense Ministry.

❗️The EU has approved sanctions for the first time in response to Russia’s deadly July 1-2 strikes on Kyiv and its campaign against civilian infrastructure. The measures target five companies from the ABS Electro group that produce electronic components for drones, including modules designed to improve Shahed drones’ resistance to jamming. Board chair Irina Kharisova was also sanctioned with an EU asset freeze and travel ban.

Ukraine’s HUR said Vladimir Putin ordered Russian forces to intensify drone attacks on gas stations, freight and passenger transport, civilian vehicles, and civilian infrastructure. According to the agency, the goal is to maximize destruction in border and frontline regions.

Ukraine’s 425th Assault Regiment said it repelled an attempted Russian infiltration across the state border toward Kozacha Lopan and fully cleared a section of the border near Hraniv. According to the regiment, the operation was led by the commander of its 4th Assault Battalion, who moved to forward positions to extract his troops.

President Zelenskyy said he has offered Ihor Klymenko the post of Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council. He said the role will focus on coordinating the security and defense sector, overseeing implementation of decisions, and defense production.

❗️Kathimerini reports NATO and the EU are pressing Greece to provide Patriot interceptor missiles to Ukraine. According to the report, Kyiv has requested up to 200 PAC-2 missiles, some of which have been in Greek service for more than two decades. A proposal under discussion would see Greece sell the interceptors to Norway before they are transferred to Ukraine, but Athens has not yet agreed to the arrangement.

Ukraine’s General Staff said its forces struck two tankers, a tug, the Russian Project 10410 Svetlyak patrol ship, the TES-Terminal-1 oil terminal, the Slavneft-YANOS refinery and other military targets in Russia and occupied Crimea.

Ukraine’s 4th Mechanized Brigade said it destroyed a Russian fortification in Kharkiv Oblast by dropping a modified 120 mm mortar round from a drone. The brigade said the munition was released from 150 meters in altitude at a range of up to 15 km.

President Zelensky said frontline commanders reported that Ukraine’s active defense remains effective and assigned objectives are being met. The meeting focused on expanding supplies of drones used at operational depth, fiber-optic drone production, personnel distribution among combat brigades, foreign volunteer recruitment and prisoner exchanges. A special command meeting with corps commanders and key defense manufacturers is being prepared.

President Zelenskyy held separate meetings with military technology specialist Serhii “Flash” Beskrestnov and 3rd Army Corps commander Andrii Biletskyi. Discussions focused on advancing military technology, strengthening Ukraine’s defense, frontline conditions and troop requirements.

Fire Point chief designer Denys Shtilerman said Ukraine is producing up to three Flamingo cruise missiles per day, or about 90 per month. According to him, the missile has a range of up to 3,000 km, nearly double the publicly stated range of the U.S. Tomahawk

The Sanctioning Russia Act of 2026 has been introduced in the U.S. Senate with support from more than 60 senators, including Republican leader John Thune. The bill targets Russian leaders, banks, state companies, sovereign debt and the shadow fleet.

President Zelensky said Ukraine will take new steps to strengthen ties with Poland, including opening SBU and foreign intelligence archives on Volhynia, expanding permits for search and exhumation work, and broadening public dialogue.
