you know what really makes you a piece of shit? saying the most horrible things about a woman and then mocking it with “the feminists are going to come running.” you’re acting like women who aren’t feminists can handle disrespect, it’s feminist women who don’t tolerate it. congratulation you’re not insulting, you’re proving the point.
dumbass.

you have a cheerful spirit stapled to a rotten soul you smell like flowers left too long in water, sweet at first, then sickening, and you burn the eyes of anyone foolish enough to look closely your touch is eroding, leaving a lingering ache, the skin remembers you long after it should have healed.
a decay dressed up and asking to be admired, a walking regret noone can even name.

be me
>lose my phone because i forgot where i put it
> remember i did laundry
>panic, convinced i tossed my phone in with the clothes
>run to check the machine
>not there
>it’s been in my pocket the whole time
my retirement era going to be sweet.

I avoided mirrors these days because my reflection reminded me so much of my mother. How much of my mother was inside me? I turned the hot water up to the max and rubbed my hands vigorously underneath the scalding deluge. I could baptize the parts of myself that came from her, but there was always the nagging question at the back of mind—where did she end and where did I begin? Did any part of me truly belong to me?

“No one ever forgives their mother,” she said, shrugging. “Fathers yes, but a mother never.”

“Being a good woman will eat you alive,” she said. “Every day it takes a piece of you. A chunk here, a chunk there until there is nothing left.”

update, but you can’t update anything. everything feels like too much. you’re not just tired of your problems you’re exhausted from having to name them.

30 minutes or less, and i’m already reminded of what i’ll always be grateful for how deeply loved eleni makes me feel. she’s the funniest, most amazing human you could ever meet. i honestly didn’t think i could even laugh( literal pain)but somehow she made it happen. my past self did something right i think she was a good friend now i get to be surrounded by incredible people.

the constant overwhelm eventually turn on your body your physical health becoming the warning you didn’t want to hear. and that’s when you wake up and realize:
none of the things you exhausted yourself over truly mattered. because in the end, everything only exists as long as you do.
