This morning, a CASA C-295W aircraft of the US Air Force was filmed in Iran. This happened against the backdrop of a large-scale rescue operation to evacuate the second pilot (weapons operator) of a downed F-15E Strike Eagle.

Earlier, the Pentagon confirmed that during this mission, two C-130 Hercules transport aircraft got stuck on an unpaved runway and were destroyed to avoid falling into Iranian hands. Three additional aircraft were deployed to complete the personnel evacuation. The C-295 is likely one of them.
