Japan’s Defense Ministry said Friday it has sent four Self-Defense Force personnel to NATO’s Ukraine support headquarters in Germany for the first time, according to the ministry’s announcement. The personnel were dispatched to the NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine headquarters.

The move places Japanese SDF personnel at a NATO facility focused on assistance and training for Ukraine. The snippet identifies this as Japan’s first such dispatch to the headquarters in Germany.
