🇺🇦🇪🇺 EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas outlined what the European Union could demand from Russia in potential negotiations on Ukraine.

She stressed that the talks should also address the issue of Russian troops in Transnistria, Abkhazia, and South Ossetia.

“Russia must respect international agreements in which it pledged not to attack its neighbors and to respect their sovereignty. But there are other issues as well. For example, mirroring the concessions Russia demanded from Ukraine. If they talk about reducing armed forces, this should also apply to Russia.

And, of course, the presence of Russian troops in Moldova and Georgia is a major concern. In the interests of European security, these troops should not be there. Russia also should not interfere in elections in other countries,” Kallas said.

She added that the presence of Russian troops in Moldova and Georgia poses a threat to European security.

Kallas also confirmed that the EU will not appoint a separate chief negotiator for talks with Putin in order not to “fall into the trap” of Russian demands.
