Putin is retreating on the battlefield in Ukraine, according to Anne Keast-Butler, head of the British intelligence agency GCHQ, as quoted by The Guardian.

She said that nearly 500,000 Russian troops have been killed since the start of the full-scale war.

The newspaper notes that this is the first time a senior British official has publicly confirmed intelligence estimates of Russian losses in Ukraine during the fifth year of the full-scale invasion.

Keast-Butler also warned that “Russia is intensifying its daily hybrid activity against the UK and Europe,” targeting undersea infrastructure, cyberspace, critical infrastructure, democratic processes, and supply chains.

“But let me be clear: in the face of such aggression and chaos, GCHQ is working tirelessly with partners to weaken and reduce the Russian threat.

We are also preventing Russia’s attempts to smuggle Western technology,” she added.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that he had written a special letter to US President Donald Trump and the US Congress.

“Yesterday, the letter was already sent to institutions in Washington. It is rare for leaders of another country to address both the US president and Congress simultaneously in this format. But the situation now demands action — prompt and effective action. It is important that America hears Ukraine,” Zelenskyy said.

The president also noted that representatives of the US Congress are currently visiting Ukraine.

“It is important that America supports Ukraine and that American representatives are here, in Ukraine. They can see with their own eyes what is happening and what the threats are — especially after the Russians carried out a particularly brutal massive strike on Sunday night,” he added.

⚡Три взрыва раздались близ Бендер-Аббаса, крупного портового города на юге Ирана, расположенного на берегу Ормузского пролива, передает Fars News.

Согласно сообщению, взрывы были зафиксированы около 01:30 в четверг (01:00 по Москве) к востоку от Бендер-Аббаса и вызвали срабатывание системы ПВО.

О причинах пока не сообщается.

США нанесли новый удар по иранскому военному объекту вблизи Бендер-Аббаса, сообщает Reuters со ссылкой на высокопоставленного чиновника.

Тип объекта не раскрывается, уточняется лишь, что он «представлял угрозу для американских войск и коммерческого судоходства в Ормузском проливе».

Помимо этого было сбито несколько беспилотников, запущенных с территории Ирана.
