Around 60 refugees were encamped outside Durban's Home Affairs Refugee Reception Centre on Che Guevara Road over the weekend, fearing attacks after more than a week of xenophobic violence, public assaults and anti-foreigner mobilisation in the city. Anti-illegal immigration groups have set 30 June as a deadline for undocumented foreigners to leave South Africa, while the Daily Maverick report published on 24 May raised questions over who is organising and financing the campaign.

The report said many of those sheltering outside the centre insist they are legally in South Africa and have documents, but are too afraid to leave. It also linked the current tensions to broader concerns that unchecked xenophobic mobilisation could trigger unrest on the scale of the July 2021 violence.

Someone please help me understand the Mentality of the Israelis

They attack south Lebanon with mors than a 100 airstrike a day (massive number) and have demolished all border towns and continue to evacuate towns as far as Sidon province

Yet they call what they are doing inline of a ceasefire and that Hezbullah's attack today that damaged a house in Metula or idk what settlement is a grave issue and that this is not a ceasefire anymore and that the hands of the IDF are being tied.

I mean the only thing they are not doing is destroying empty civilian residential buildings in Beirut to exert a financial toll on Shia and their homes.

Everything else they are doing folds more than during the war.

The regulator said it is contesting the EU legal act that treats the sovereign assets of the Bank of Russia as an element of financial support for a third country.

The case concerns Regulation No. 2026/467 of the European Parliament and the Council of the EU, adopted on February 24, 2026, which allows income generated from frozen Russian sovereign assets to be transferred to support Ukraine in 2026–2027.

Russia’s Central Bank called the mechanism an “illegal form of using assets as collateral for a loan” and claimed it violates principles of international law and the immunity of asset holders.
