Analyst Clement Molin mapped Ukraine's drone strike kill zones into 4 echelons based on video and photo evidence.

Echelon 1 covers ~20 km on both sides of the front. FPV drones operate 5-15 km deep. Everything moving gets targeted fast, casualties are heavy.

Echelon 2 reaches 50+ km. Extended-range FPVs via Starlink or added wings go after logistics, staging areas and key supply roads. Vehicle losses are high, especially unarmored ones.

Echelon 3 goes to 150 km. FP-2 drones and loitering munitions hit rear bases, ammo depots, training centers, air defense systems and fuel tankers on key routes, including the land corridor to Crimea through occupied territory.

Echelon 4 stretches up to 300 km toward Crimea and Russia. Targets include oil refineries, ports, industrial sites, fuel depots and command posts.

On top of that, FPV drones launched from naval USVs can now strike far beyond the front line.

🇪🇺 President Zelenskyy rejected Friedrich Merz’s proposal for Ukraine’s “associate membership” in the European Union, Reuters reports.

In a letter to EU leaders, President Zelenskyy described the idea of granting Ukraine “associate” status without voting rights as unfair.

“It would be unfair if Ukraine were present in the European Union but remained without voting rights. It is time to move forward on Ukraine’s membership in a full and meaningful way,” the letter states.

President Zelenskyy also stressed that Ukraine “defends Europe in full, not in part” and should therefore receive equal rights within the EU.

Earlier, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz proposed introducing an interim “associate member” status for Ukraine, which would allow partial integration into EU institutions and security mechanisms, but without full voting rights.

Ukraine is training drone operators using a custom GTA V mod that simulates hunting Russian Shaheds in the air.

There is also activity in Ridkodub, where the successes are more tangible, although Ukrainian casualties are mounting.

North Korea on Saturday criticized Japan’s plan to revise three key security documents this year, calling it a push to turn the country into a “war state.” The attack was published in Rodong Sinmun, with Pyongyang denouncing Tokyo’s actions as reckless militarism and warning against another invasion.

The documents under review are Japan’s National Security Strategy, National Defense Strategy and Defense Buildup Program. Yonhap said the revision drive is widely seen as a response to China’s growing military presence and other regional security threats, placing Japan’s defense posture at the center of a wider Northeast Asian security realignment.

The statement follows a similar North Korean criticism earlier this month, indicating sustained pressure in Pyongyang’s messaging toward Tokyo’s defense overhaul.

❗️The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has denied claims by Russian propaganda alleging that the Defense Forces damaged civilian facilities in the temporarily occupied territory of the Luhansk region.

As reported by the General Staff on Facebook, Russian media is spreading what it described as manipulative information about alleged strikes on civilian infrastructure.

“We inform you that the Armed Forces of Ukraine strike military infrastructure and facilities used for military purposes, strictly adhering to the norms of international humanitarian law, as well as the laws and customs of war,” the General Staff stated.

It added that on the night of May 22, 2026, a number of Russian military targets were struck, including an oil refinery, ammunition depots, air defense systems, command posts, and enemy personnel.

Among the targets was reportedly one of the headquarters of the Rubicon unit in the area of Starobilsk.
