France wants to join a joint German-British program to develop long-range missiles, the Financial Times reports.
The project envisions the development of land-based missiles with a range of more than 2,000 km, capable of striking targets deep inside Russian territory.
According to the Financial Times, the initiative gained particular relevance after President Donald Trump canceled plans to deploy US Tomahawk missiles in Germany.
European countries fear they may eventually have to deter Russia without direct reliance on the United States and are therefore accelerating the development of their own long-range strike systems.
The FT also notes that France sees such missiles as a complement to its nuclear deterrent.

Türkiye did not allow the Panormitis vessel, which was carrying grain allegedly stolen from temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, to unload, Israel Hayom reports.
Earlier, on April 30, Israel also denied the vessel permission to unload at the port of Haifa after the issue drew public attention.
According to the publication, the Israeli buyer canceled the contract after information emerged about the grain’s alleged illegal origin.
The Panormitis then left Haifa and headed to the Turkish port of İskenderun, where it docked.
Israel Hayom reports that the activities of Russia’s so-called “shadow fleet” were discussed during bilateral Ukrainian-Turkish political consultations last week. It was reportedly after these talks that the vessel was denied permission to unload. As a result, it later left Turkish territorial waters.
Consultations with Israeli businesses are also ongoing on further steps to prevent trade in grain originating from temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories.

در یک تغییر اساسی در سیاستهای مهاجرتی آمریکا، دولت این کشور اعلام کرد خارجیهایی که قصد دریافت اقامت دائم یا همان گرین کارت را دارند، باید خاک ایالات متحده را ترک و از طریق کنسولگری یا سفارت آمریکا اقدام نمایند.
زک کالر، سخنگوی دفتر مهاجرت دولت آمریکا، گفت که این سیاست «نیاز به یافتن و اخراج» کسانی را کاهش میدهد که درخواست اقامتشان رد شده است.
از سوی دیگر وکلای مهاجرت و گروههای امدادی میگویند که این تغییر احتمالا به «جدایی بیشازپیش خانوادهها» منجر خواهد شد و قربانیان قاچاق انسان هم مجبور خواهند شد «به کشورهای خطرناکی بازگردند که از آن گریختهاند.»

Администрация США, включая представителей Пентагона и разведывательного сообщества, готовится к возможному возобновлению ударов по Ирану в ближайшие три дня, сообщила телекомпания со ссылкой на источники.
По их данным, часть американских военных и сотрудников разведки отменила планы на трехдневные выходные по случаю Дня поминовения, который отмечается в США 25 мая, на фоне ожиданий возможных ударов.
Телекомпания подчеркивает, что на вечер пятницы окончательного решения о нанесении новых ударов принято не было.

Closing the Strait of Hormuz through August raises the risk of an economic downturn that could approach the scale of the 2008 financial crisis.
The baseline scenario assumes that the waterway reopens in July. Under that scenario, average oil demand would fall by 2.6 million barrels per day, while benchmark Brent crude could peak at around $130 per barrel during the summer.
A longer disruption, however, would require an even sharper drop in demand to offset the supply shock in August and September.
Analysts warn that this could be enough to trigger a full-year decline in global oil consumption in 2026. Several major forecasters are already expecting a rare drop in global demand this year.
