🇺🇸🇯🇴 📝 More Details on Jordan-U.S. Military and Security Cooperation; Jordan – America's Vast Military Garrison in the Region!

🔹On January 31, 2021, Jordan and the United States signed a defense cooperation agreement, which was ratified by the Jordanian government on February 17, 2021. The agreement consists of 19 articles, granting U.S. forces the right to use Jordanian territory for military operations. It also allows personnel from U.S. aircraft and vessels to "enter and exit Jordan without requesting a visa."

➡️ At the time of its signing, the agreement drew criticism from several Jordanian parliament members as well as political and legal experts. Many expressed concerns that the deal represented a form of colonization and a violation of Jordanian sovereignty, and that it contradicted the country's constitution and laws, as it was approved by the government without parliamentary ratification.

‼️According to the U.S.-Jordan agreement, which became operational in 2021, U.S. forces have access to 12 air and naval bases in Jordan for a period of 15 years, four of which are jointly used for training Jordanian military personnel and conducting various operations.

✍️ Accordingly, Muwaffaq Salti Air Base has become the main hub and command center for U.S. manned and unmanned aircraft in West Asia. Additionally, it was decided that U.S. military personnel would begin operations at the Royal Jordanian Air Force Main Training Center (Amman Training Center) located in the capital, Al-Humayma Base 50 kilometers from Aqaba, the Royal Jordanian Air Force Command Center at King Abdullah II Air Base, the naval base in Aqaba, the Al-Quwayrah training base for Jordanian forces, the King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Center, Prince Hassan Air Base, King Faisal Air Base, and 15 border posts along the borders with Iraq and Syria.

👉 Currently, approximately 4,000 U.S. troops are stationed in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. This number represents the baseline, stable presence, which may increase during certain periods.

✍️‼️ Jordan is now a key non-NATO ally of the United States. The deployment of U.S. military personnel across more than 15 bases and military garrisons, the transformation of Muwaffaq Salti Air Base into the primary command hub for U.S. airpower, and King Faisal Air Base into the main logistics center for its forces across West Asia, all indicate that Jordan has effectively become a vast American garrison for the defense of the Israeli regime. The U.S. military uses Jordanian territory as a crucial launchpad for aerial operations against Iran and the Axis of Resistance in the region.

🇷🇺🇦🇲 Последние действия Армении не соответствуют духу союзничества с Россией, — Шойгу

Секретарь Совета безопасности РФ Сергей Шойгу на заседании специальной рабочей группы заявил, что Армения регулярно присоединяется к позиции Евросоюза на международных площадках, а также ведет активную работу по модификации стандартов, синхронизацию таможенно-торговых режимов с ЕС, «что может не соответствовать обязательствам Армении в рамках ЕАЭС».

«Проводятся совместные военные учения, в последние годы руководством Армении был предпринят ряд действий однозначно недружественного характера. Именно так расцениваем присоединение к статусу Международного уголовного суда, выдачу российских граждан третьем странам», - цитируют его российские СМИ.

По мнению Шойгу, сотрудничество и стратегическое партнерство двух стран должно быть взаимовыгодным, а не односторонним.

Он предложил обсудить дальнейшее выстраивание взаимодействия России с Арменией в политической и экономической сферах, а также в области безопасности.

Он напомнил, что доля России в общем товарообороте Армении составляет 36%.

«Наша страна занимает первое место, как по экспорту, так и по импорту. Вряд ли можно оспорить тот факт, что основным двигателем роста армянской экономики является сотрудничество с Россией», - сказал Шойгу.
