“Not about war, but about love.” An exhibition by photographer Giles Duley, who documents the consequences of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, has opened in New York.
Sutton Tower is hosting Distortion/Memory/Resilience, an exhibition by British documentarian Giles Duley, who has spent more than 20 years documenting the consequences of wars around the world. The artist himself lost three limbs while working in Afghanistan.
Duley describes the project as the most personal work of his career.
“Everything here is a story. And every story is connected. Even the materials from which the works are created have their own memory,” he said.
Among the installations are a children’s room featuring drawings by Ukrainian children created during therapy, a pinhole room accompanied by an air raid siren, and “archival” portraits of Ukrainian soldiers taken with cameras from the 1940s.

Министерство просвещения РФ разрабатывает государственный учебник по физкультуре, сообщил министр Сергей Кравцов в ходе общения с учителями физкультуры в рамках Всероссийского съезда, открывшегося во вторник в Тульской области.
По словам министра, каждая спортивная федерация сможет принять участие в реализации школьных программ.
"Мы утвердили программы по всем основным видам спорта. И сегодня практически каждая федерация может работать в школе. У нас большая программа - "Футбол в школе", "Самбо в школе", дзюдо, борьба и хоккей", - отметил Кравцов.

Родственники первого премьер-министра Демократической Республики Конго Патриса Лумумбы продолжат подавать судебные иски, несмотря на кончину подозреваемого в причастности к его убийству бельгийского дипломата графа Этьена Давиньона
Адвокаты отмечают, что подадут новые иски, в частности, в отношении Бельгии, чтобы привлечь ее к ответственности за преступления колониализма.
В понедельник стало известно, что Давиньон, в отношении которого в марте 2026 года начали уголовный процесс по делу о причастности к убийству Лумумбы, скончался в возрасте 93 лет, так и не представ перед судом. Он был единственным оставшимся в живых из 10 человек, против которых семья Лумумбы подала иск в 2011 году. По мнению семьи, эти люди были причастны к убийству Лумумбы в 1961 году.
В 2001 году Бельгия признала моральную ответственность за роль в убийстве Лумумбы и принесла извинения конголезцам.
