Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces struck Russian Tor-M2 air defense, logistics infrastructure, command and communications nodes, UAV control points and other targets on May 16-17. Hits included a protected Black Sea Fleet communications node in Crimea, port cranes in Berdiansk, a fuel train in Donetsk Oblast, telecom towers in Zaporizhzhia Oblast and a Project 10410 patrol ship in Kaspiysk.

The dispute reflects growing friction over Indonesia's industrial policy, which has increasingly prioritized downstream processing and domestic value-add over raw material exports — a strategy that constrains foreign operators, particularly in the nickel sector where Chinese firms hold significant positions. Jakarta has shown little willingness to ease these structural constraints despite investor pressure.

The standoff signals that Indonesia will continue asserting regulatory sovereignty over its critical minerals supply chain, regardless of diplomatic pushback from Beijing-linked business networks.
