Norway has confirmed it revoked export licences for a naval strike missile system and launcher components intended for Malaysia's littoral combat ship programme, citing tightened controls on sensitive defence technology. Oslo stated sales are now restricted to allies and closest partners following shifts in the global security environment. Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim raised a formal objection directly with Norwegian PM Jonas Gahr Støre on May 14.

The original contract was signed in 2011 under Malaysia's LCS programme, with first vessel deliveries expected later in 2026. Programme costs have already escalated from RM9 billion to RM11.2 billion, while the order was reduced from six ships to five. Kuala Lumpur has warned the move damages confidence in European defence suppliers and is pursuing legal action and compensation.

The distance from Ukraine’s state border is more than 500 km. The Moscow region has the highest concentration of Russian air defense systems, yet Ukrainian drones continue to overcome these defenses.

Ukrainian drone forces hit 186 targets at 46 military sites across Russia and occupied territories overnight, commander Madyar reports. Strikes included an FSB patrol ship in Kaspiysk, Tor air defense in Luhansk, Black Sea Fleet communications in Crimea and multiple command posts.
