🔥 Reuters: Ukraine doubles strikes on Russian refineries this year.

The strikes cut Russian oil production by 460,000 barrels per day in April from a year earlier to about 8.8 million barrels per day.

This has prevented Moscow from taking advantage of a sharp rise in global energy prices caused by the war in the Middle East.

In total, Ukrainian drones have disabled 16 refineries this year, with a combined processing capacity of about 700,000 barrels of oil per day. Over the same period in 2025, the Ukrainian military hit only 8 refineries.

35 primary distillation units with a total capacity of more than 390,000 metric tons per day have also been disabled since January, compared with 12 units last year.

🌍 Critical minerals race in Africa draws comparisons to 19th-century colonial scramble, says Open Society Foundations director

Deprose Muchena, director of the Resources Futures in Africa programme at the Open Society Foundations, has warned that the global competition for Africa's critical minerals mirrors the 1885 Scramble for Africa, with major powers including the US, China, Europe, and Gulf states intensifying their pursuit of the continent's resources. Africa holds 48% of global cobalt and manganese reserves, 22% of graphite, and around 6% of nickel and lithium, with the World Bank projecting a nearly 500% increase in demand for minerals such as graphite, lithium, and cobalt by 2050. Despite hosting 20% of new mineral discoveries, Africa attracts only 10% of global exploration spending. Ghana exported $9.58bn in gold in 2024 but retained only 14% of the value, while the DRC produces over 70% of the world's cobalt yet refines just 1% domestically.

Muchena called on African states to negotiate collectively, add value to minerals on the continent — currently below 5% — and become rule makers rather than rule takers, while balancing global demand against the reality that 600 million Africans remain without electricity.

رسانه وابسته به قوه قضائیه جمهوری اسلامی اعلام کرد اموال ۵۱ نفر در استان یزد، با دستور قضایی و به اتهام آنچه «خیانت به وطن» و «همکاری با دشمن» خوانده شده، توقیف شده است.

بر اساس این گزارش، پرونده این افراد در ارتباط با قانون موسوم به «تشدید مجازات جاسوسی و همکاری با رژیم صهیونیستی علیه امنیت و منافع ملی» در حال رسیدگی است و مقام‌های قضایی مدعی شده‌اند دارایی‌های توقیف‌شده قرار است برای «حفظ حقوق عامه» و بازسازی اماکن آسیب‌دیده از جنگ هزینه شود.

اموال توقیف‌شده شامل حساب‌های بانکی، دارایی‌های منقول و غیرمنقول، سهام شرکت‌ها و حتی اموال وکالتی عنوان شده است.

طبق گزارش میزان، از میان این ۵۱ نفر، ۲۰ نفر در داخل کشور حضور دارند و ۳۱ نفر دیگر در خارج از کشور به سر می‌برند.

این اقدام در ادامه موج تازه‌ای از مصادره و توقیف اموال شهروندان و مخالفان سیاسی صورت می‌گیرد؛ روندی که در عمل به ابزاری برای فشار، ارعاب و مصادره دارایی افراد تحت عنوان‌های سنگینی مانند «خیانت» و «همکاری با دشمن» تبدیل شده است.

صدا و سیمای جمهوری اسلامی جمعه چند برنامه پخش کرد که در آنها مجریان در بخش‌های استودیویی با در دست داشتن تفنگ ظاهر شدند و کار با سلاح‌های سبک آموزش داده شد. مجریان در این برنامه‌ها اعلام کردند که در صورت لزوم به جنگ خواهند پیوست.
این برنامه‌ها که دست‌کم در سه بخش پخش شد، در رسانه‌های داخلی بازنشر و در شبکه‌های اجتماعی با واکنش‌هایی همراه شد. برخی کاربران شبکه‌های اجتماعی این بخش‌ها را نشانه‌ای از بسیج در شرایط جنگی توصیف کردند.
