🇦🇺✈️‼️ Deployment of Australian E-7A spy aircraft and special forces in the region to confront Iran

🔹Despite the Australian government’s refusal to officially confirm, over the past two month at least a group of 90 personnel — including 40 operators and 50 support staff — from Australia’s elite Special Air Service Regiment (SAS) have been deployed to the UAE, possibly at Al Minhad Air Base. It is said that the primary mission of these forces is the emergency evacuation of Australian diplomats and citizens from the region; however, the presence of such a number of special forces is not something that can be easily overlooked.

🔹Furthermore, the Australian government has officially announced the deployment of one E-7A Wedgetail airborne early warning aircraft, along with 85 personnel, to the region. Although it is claimed that the purpose of this deployment is to protect the airspace of the Persian Gulf states and to participate in the naval mission recently launched by the UK and France, in the event of renewed hostilities this aircraft could, during a 17‑hour patrol, provide a comprehensive picture of the region’s skies to countries confronting Iran and play a vital role in countering Iran’s drone and missile attacks.

🔹Australia has also begun supplying advanced AMRAAM air‑to‑air missiles to replenish the UAE’s weapons stockpiles.

✍️ The totality of these moves reflects Australia’s dual‑pronged and deceptive strategy for simultaneously managing two priorities. Through these actions, Australia will, on one hand, maintain its symbolic presence in support of the Persian Gulf states and its participation in the UK‑ and France‑led maritime mission; on the other hand, it will retain operational and rapid‑response capability in the event that war breaks out again. In effect, with this tactic, Australia fulfills its commitments to its allies while, at the same time, participating in the confrontation against Iran yet keeping itself insulated from entering into an all‑out war with Iran.
