🔸به نوشته خبرگزاری تسنیم، این نماینده گفته که تولید روزانه بنزین در ایران بین « ۱۱۰ تا ۱۱۵ میلیون لیتر» و مصرف روزانه بین «۱۳۰ تا ۱۳۵ میلیون لیتر» است.

🔸سپهوند با بیان اینکه «در کوتاه‌مدت امکان افزایش تولید وجود ندارد»، خواستار جدی‌گرفتن «مدیریت مصرف سوخت» شد.

🔸پیش از این وزیر خزانه‌داری ایالات متحده گفته بود ایران به‌زودی با «کمبود بنزین» مواجه خواهد شد.

🔸اسکات بسنت با انتشار مطلبی کوتاه در شبکۀ ایکس، نوشته بود: «در حالی‌که باقی‌ماندۀ سران سپاه پاسداران، مثل موش‌هایی که در لوله‌های فاضلاب غرق می‌شوند، گیر افتاده‌اند، به لطف محاصرۀ دریایی ایالات متحده، صنایع نفتی آسیب‌دیدۀ ایران، در حال از کار افتادن و توقف تولید است. پمپاژ نفت به زودی متوقف خواهد شد».

🔸او سپس پیامش را به سبک دونالد ترامپ، با جمله‌ای که به‌طور کامل با حروف بزرگ نوشته شده، به پایان برده بود؛ جمله‌ای با این مضمون هشدار آمیز: «مرحلۀ بعد،‌ کمبود بنزین در ایران!»
