🇺🇬 Uganda's Museveni sworn in for record seventh consecutive term

Yoweri Museveni, 81, was inaugurated as Uganda's president on 12 May 2026 for a seventh consecutive term, following his declared victory in January elections with over 70% of the vote. Amnesty International reported that at least 16 people were likely killed by security forces between 15 and 18 January following the disputed vote.
