Russians have begun shipping drone components and other goods to Iran via the Caspian Sea to bypass a potential US blockade, — The New York Times.
In recent months, the Caspian Sea has gained importance as a key trade route between Russia and Iran, sources told the newspaper.
The United States cannot intercept ships in the Caspian Sea — unlike in the Persian Gulf — because access is limited to the five countries bordering it. As a result, the region remains a “blind spot” for the US.
Russian port data reviewed by journalists also shows a sharp increase in shipments along this route in recent months.
Around two million tons of wheat, previously delivered annually to Iran via the Black Sea, have been redirected through the Caspian. Goods that were typically shipped through the Strait of Hormuz are also increasingly using this route.
According to sources, Russian components are unlikely to be decisive for Iran’s ability to confront the United States and Israel, but continued supplies could help Tehran quickly replenish its drone arsenal.
Iran has also announced efforts to expand alternative trade routes. Four Iranian ports on the Caspian Sea are operating around the clock, receiving wheat, corn, animal feed, sunflower oil, and other goods from Russia.

According to the sources, such a purchase could provide justification for advancing these classifications in the country.

Цель акции «ПоZор» — заклеймить пособников путинской войны и обратить внимание общества на деятельность организаций, которые поддерживают убийства.
Организация регулярно собирает и передаёт помощь путинским военным, участвующим в боевых действиях против Украины.
Мы против путинской преступной войны и не намерены дальше терпеть деятельность этих кровавых волонтёров.
Акция «ПоZор» продолжается.

AFRICOM has identified the soldier as 1st Lt. Kendrick Lamont Key Jr., 27, of Richmond, Virginia. He was a platoon leader assigned to Charlie Battery, 5th Battalion, 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 10th Army Air and Missile Defense Command.
His body was found along the shoreline roughly one mile from where both soldiers entered the ocean. The search and rescue mission is still underway for the second missing soldier.

Ukrainian “anti-Shahed” An-28 has shot down 213 enemy drones using a machine gun and interceptor drones, — “Militarny,i” citing analysis of a report by The New York Times.
American journalists described the work of the so-called “Shahed hunter” — a converted civilian An-28 transport aircraft.
There are 213 markings on its fuselage for downed targets, mostly Shahed and Gerbera drones. Among them is also a rare target — the Russian Corsair UAV, at least one of which was shot down back in 2022.
Additional markings near some of the symbols indicate the use of interceptor drones. In April, it became known that P1-SUN interceptor drones developed by SkyFall were integrated into the An-28. The aircraft has at least three hardpoints under each wing, allowing it to carry up to six interceptors at once.
The aircraft is also equipped with an optical station for visual detection of aerial targets. To engage them, the crew uses a six-barreled M134 Minigun.
The An-28 crew consists of civilian pilots who voluntarily joined the defense of Ukrainian airspace.
Ground controllers guide the aircraft into areas where Russian drones are detected, after which the pilot and operator visually locate and engage the targets.
