🇬🇧🇺🇦🇲🇩 Tom Hiddleston visited Ukrainian refugee children at the DyvoSvit center in Moldova.
The most powerful impression of the day was the striking contrast between the brightness, joy, playfulness, energy, and optimism of the children I met today and the depth of pain and the stories of struggle and suffering that the mothers and guardians of these children told me, — Tom Hiddleston about his impressions of the trip.

The parade in Moscow was held without military equipment not only for security reasons, but also because the military must focus on the final defeat of the enemy, Putin said.
Other statements from the Russian dictator:
▫️ After the Ministry of Defense warned of a possible retaliatory strike on central Kyiv in the event of an attack on Red Square, the Russian Foreign Ministry informed Western embassies that such a strike could also affect their missions;
▫️ Moscow asked Washington to ensure the security of diplomatic missions in Kyiv. After that, Trump proposed extending the ceasefire announced by Russia on May 8–9 for two more days, until May 11;
▫️ Russia discussed with China, India, the United States, and other countries the consequences of possible strikes on Kyiv on May 9 and potential Russian retaliation;
▫️ Foreign leaders who attended the May 9 events in Moscow demonstrated a certain level of courage;
▫️ The United States is genuinely seeking a settlement, but this remains primarily a matter for Russia and Ukraine;
▫️ The US does not need the Ukrainian conflict, as it has many other priorities;
▫️ The war in Ukraine is nearing its resolution;
▫️ “I have never refused to meet with Zelenskyy; let him come to Moscow. We could also meet in a third country, but only to finalize long-term agreements”;
▫️ Russia must ensure that no one threatens it and will continue to pursue this goal;
▫️ The “globalist trend of Western elites” is waging war against Russia “through the hands of Ukrainians”;
▫️ The sooner Europe recognizes the need for acceptable relations with Russia, the better it will be for all sides;
▫️ Russia is ready to replicate Iran’s experience in storing enriched uranium; initially there was agreement, but the US later toughened its position;
▫️ Cooperation between Russia and China is a key factor in stabilizing international relations;
▫️ Russia and China are preparing to take a significant step forward in cooperation in the oil and gas sectors;
▫️ The stronger Russia becomes, the faster attempts to downplay the Soviet Union’s role in World War II will fade;
▫️ “Everyone wanted to take something from Russia”;
▫️ Finland joined NATO expecting Russia to weaken, but is now strengthening its border infrastructure;
▫️ “Stupidity can lead to poverty,” — on Europe’s attempts to discourage officials from attending the May 9 events in Moscow;
▫️ Armenia’s plans to join the EU require special consideration;
▫️ Russia will support decisions that benefit the Armenian people;
▫️ Armenia could hold a referendum on EU membership, after which Russia could begin a “civilized separation” process if supported;
▫️ In Ukraine’s case, the conflict also began with the issue of European integration.

Today, Russia celebrated Victory Day. Moscow’s Red Square hosted a smaller-scale military parade amid fears of a Ukrainian attack and a fragile ceasefire.
Alongside veterans of the Great Patriotic War, soldiers from the “Special Military Operation” marched alongside North Korean soldiers who participated in the liberation of the occupied territory in Kursk last year.
Meanwhile, in Ukraine, despite government threats, Ukrainian citizens honored the fallen heroes—compatriots from the former Ukrainian SSR—demonstrating that policies of selective historical memory cannot be imposed on a complex reality such as the Ukrainian people and the Ukrainian question.
