Coalición Sindical and CTV deliver document to the US Embassy to demand democratic transition

A commission made up of leaders from the National Labor Coalition and the Confederation of Venezuelan Workers (CTV) arrived this Thursday at the United States Embassy in Caracas and formally delivered a document in which they demand concrete actions to restore democracy and address the labor crisis in Venezuela.

The document was received by staff at the diplomatic mission, in the absence of the Chargé d'Affaires John Barrett. In the text, the union leaders recognize the measures taken by the Government of the United States against the criminal structures that control the Venezuelan state and ratify the victory of Edmundo González Urrutia in the presidential elections of July 28, 2024.

"A scenario of consolidation of power by de facto means is being configured," they warn in the document.

Poland will receive almost €44 billion from the EU for military modernization, according to Le Monde.

Poland was the first EU member state to sign a loan agreement under the SAFE programme, created to strengthen European defence in response to the Russian threat and a possible reduction in US support.

Warsaw will receive €43.7 billion for military modernization, development of its defence industry, and the purchase of weapons and critical infrastructure.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk called it a “turning point” for Poland and the entire European Union. He said Europe is finally learning from history and taking greater responsibility for its own security.

Poland already spends more on defence than any other NATO member relative to its economy — around 4.8% of GDP.

Активисты движения «ОТПОР» сообщают о давлении на студентов Санкт-Петербургского государственного университета. Накануне 9 мая на кафедрах начали распространять опросники о «патриотизме» и готовности подписать контракт.

По данным активиста, обучающегося в СПбГУ преподаватели давят на личное: «деды воевали — теперь твоя очередь». Студенты, давшие «неправильные» ответы, получают вызов в деканат или в военкомат.

Насколько практика охватывает другие факультеты и корпуса университета — уточняется. Фиксируем поступающие обращения.

Праздник Победы превращается в инструмент вербовки, а один из старейших университетов страны — в площадку для давления на тех, кто пришёл учиться, а не умирать.
