Russian forces are attacking forests in the Chernihiv region using FPV drones with incendiary mixtures. The fire near the border has already spread across more than 4,000 hectares, and ongoing drone activity is preventing firefighting efforts, said the head of the regional administration, Vyacheslav Chaus.
“The scale of the fire is very significant. At the moment, the fire is moving toward the Russian Federation, and there are active fire zones there — even the weather is currently in our favor. But we must be prepared for a possible change in wind direction.
Our top priority is people’s safety. The fire has already reached houses near the border, though there were no residents present. We must prevent it from spreading to populated areas.
There is also a contingency plan for evacuation. At present, residents are reluctant to leave, but if the threat increases, we must be ready to evacuate them in time.
Forestry workers are creating additional mineralized strips. All necessary equipment is in use, and rescuers are ready to assist.
We are recording enemy strikes even while forestry equipment is operating. The risk remains very high, and I am grateful to those doing everything possible to contain the fire,” he said.
While extinguishing a fire in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone, rescuers found a moose calf that had lost its mother.
The animal was given water, cared for, and handed over to environmental specialists. It is now safe and under supervision, receiving the care it needs.

🇸🇾🇮🇱 Rocket attack by the Oli al-Bass resistance group on the Israeli army in southern Syria
🟡 The Islamic Resistance Front in Syria – Oli al-Bass, in a statement last night, declared that it had targeted a base belonging to the Israeli occupation army in the "Al-Tloul Al-Homor" area in southern Syria on May 7. The group emphasised that this attack was carried out in response to repeated Israeli aggressions, and that the base came under rocket fire.
🔻The media wing of the resistance group released footage showing preparations and the launching of rockets toward the Israeli army base in the Al-Tloul Al-Homor area of Syria's Quneitra province. According to the group's statement, the rocket attack was successful and led to the destruction of part of the base’s infrastructure.
➡️ Abu Mujahid, commander of the Islamic Resistance Front in Syria – Oli al-Bass, stressed in a statement that all enemy movements and positions on Syrian soil lie within the operational range of his group's fighters, and that any troop movements or engineering activities to establish new positions will be considered legitimate targets for them.
✍️ It is worth noting that the Al-Tloul Al-Homor area is a strategically significant location in southern Syria, possessing high military importance due to its elevation overlooking the occupied Golan Heights. This area has repeatedly witnessed clashes between local forces and Israeli troops in recent months.
