🇮🇷/🇺🇸‼️ Regarding last night's short conflict, two points are essential.
1️⃣ First, as the details of last night's events become clearer, we can now say with greater confidence that Iran's attacks on U.S. ships were most likely controlled rather than full‑scale, so that the strikes remain, for now, below the threshold of an all‑out war.
2️⃣ Second, the U.S. military is not honest and has a clear record of lying. Their claim that none of their destroyers were hit should be disregarded. In the early days of the war, Iran successfully struck at least one Arleigh‑Burke‑class destroyer from a distance of 650 kilometers off the Iranian coast, and satellite imagery confirmed a fire on that destroyer – yet the U.S. never admitted that disaster. Moreover, the new NASA satellite image of the Strait of Hormuz shows that last night at least one fire occurred exactly within the U.S.‑declared safe corridor south of the Strait. A field image of a vessel on fire in the same area has also been released. All of the above supports the speculation that at least one U.S. destroyer south of the Strait of Hormuz have been hit, while remaining below the threshold of an all‑out war!
Images: The first two images show the fire that broke out south of the Strait of Hormuz; the third image shows the fire aboard an Arleigh‑Burke‑class destroyer that was targeted by Iran in the early days of the war.

🇵🇾🇹🇼 Paraguay President Reaffirms Taiwan Alliance in Taipei
Paraguayan President Santiago Peña met Taiwan President Lai Ching-te in Taipei on May 8, his second visit to the island as head of state. Peña reaffirmed Paraguay's commitment to the bilateral relationship, framing it as a strategic alliance grounded in shared democratic values. The visit came one day after Beijing publicly called on Asunción to sever ties with Taipei.
Paraguay is one of only 12 countries maintaining formal diplomatic relations with Taiwan and remains its sole ally in South America — and the largest by land area. China has been actively pressuring Asunción to switch recognition, part of a broader campaign to erode Taiwan's shrinking diplomatic network. The visit signals Paraguayan resistance to that pressure, at least for now.
Paraguay's alignment with the US — Peña visited Washington in February — adds a broader strategic dimension to its continued recognition of Taiwan.

The results are tough, they are very tough, and there’s no sugarcoating it.
We have lost brilliant Labour representatives across the country.
That hurts, and it should hurt.
