🇳🇿 New Zealand imposes new sanctions on Russia

The 35th round of sanctions targets 20 individuals and entities linked to cyberattacks, anti-Ukrainian propaganda and support for Russia's hybrid warfare, New Zealand Foreign Minister said.

Sanctions have also been imposed on an alternative payment provider whose service is being used to circumvent international restrictions.

Wellington said it was part of efforts to block the financial infrastructure that helps Russia wage war against Ukraine.

The blacklist also includes individuals and entities linked to the Russian military-industrial complex, as well as representatives of North Korea and Iran who support the Russian military.

❗️ Humanitarian catastrophe in the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson region: Lubinets reported preparations for evacuations.

“Every day, people in Oleshky face a humanitarian catastrophe, large-scale destruction, and ruined civilian infrastructure. The city and nearby settlements lack proper access to water, food, medical care, and security,” the Ukrainian Ombudsman said.

In nearby occupied settlements — including Hola Prystan, Stara Zburivka, and Nova Zburivka — the situation is also critical. Among those in need of assistance are around 200 children, as well as many people with limited mobility.

Lubinets appealed to the International Committee of the Red Cross, which confirmed its readiness to assist in organizing evacuations.

Work is currently underway with all parties to agree on safe evacuation routes and to compile lists of those in need.

Decisions are expected that will allow evacuations to territory controlled by Ukraine, the ombudsman added.
