Ukrainian Garden with revived Lviv cherry blossom opens in Germany.
In Lviv’s twin city of Würzburg, a 200 m² Ukrainian Garden was created for Europe Day.
The main symbol of the garden is the Klepariv Cherry Blossom, a unique variety bred in Lviv’s Klepariv district.
“The Klepariv Cherry Blossom is a variety developed in a historic suburb of Lviv. It was revived five years ago, in 2021, after nearly a century of obscurity. Today it blooms in Würzburg as a symbol of memory and new life,” said Lviv City Council representative Taras Kubay.
In addition to the tree, traditional Ukrainian plants were planted in the garden, including mallow, sage, periwinkle, and wormwood.
A special feature is an “observation point” — a brass paving stone cast by a Lviv craftsman from shell casings used at the front.

Ivory Coast's government has dissolved the Independent Electoral Commission (CEI) following sustained criticism of the body over its handling of elections, government spokesperson Amadou Coulibaly said on Wednesday.
