On the afternoon of May 5, security forces from the MOI launched a new arrest operation targeting Uzbek terrorists in al-Fu'ah, Kafriya, and Binnish. The arrest of 16 Uzbeks (with limited clashes during the operation) has heightened tensions among foreign terrorists who, after having fought side by side with Syrian terrorists to seize power, now find themselves discriminated against by the STG led by Jolani, who, in an effort to clean up his image in the eyes of Western media, is now seeking to eliminate these foreign terrorists to demonstrate that he is capable of controlling and governing a country.
There are still thousands of international terrorists on Syrian soil living in areas of Greater Idlib. The onset of crackdowns like the one that took place on May 5 will increase mistrust toward Damascus and prompt them to challenge its authority, even by aligning with ISIS, which continues to kill terrorists affiliated with the Transitional Government.

Госдеп США запретил дипломатам использовать закрытую информацию для ставок, сообщает The Wall Street Journal со ссылкой на служебный меморандум ведомства.
"Недавние сообщения в СМИ вызывают обеспокоенность в связи с использованием представителями правительства США непубличной правительственной информации для размещения ставок на онлайн-сервисах прогнозов", — говорится в документе, который цитирует издание.
Как отмечает газета, документ был распространен вскоре после резонансного случая с американским военнослужащим, которого обвинили в использовании секретной информации для получения выигрыша в размере $400 тыс. По данным издания, речь шла о ставках на возможное свержение президента Николаса Мадуро в Венесуэле. Военный свою вину не признал.

По данным источника, ожидается, что Иран передаст свой ответ на предложение США через пакистанских посредников в течение двух дней.
При этом, как отмечает Bloomberg, иранские государственные СМИ "дали понять, что некоторые положения предложения США остаются нереалистичными для иранского руководства".
