🇱🇧🇱🇧/🇮🇱📝Report No. 35 from the southern Lebanon front

🔹The Israeli regime’s army continued its ground and aerial attacks on the Lebanese front. Zionist air and artillery strikes are concentrated on areas south of the Litani River, while ground attacks are focused on the southern axis of Zawtar.

🟡Deir Siryan – Zawtar front:
Since 4 May, the Israeli army has attempted to cross the Litani River and attack the town of Eastern Zawtar (Zawtar al-Sharqiyeh). However, these attempts have been thwarted by Hezbollah’s strikes, and the Zionist military convoy has been stopped in the Raj Valley.
Israel’s goal is to capture the towns of Zawtar and Yohmor, north of the Litani River.
To cross the Litani River, the Israeli army faces geographical obstacles and guerrilla attacks from Hezbollah. Hezbollah is using this natural advantage to inflict losses and casualties on the Zionists.

🟡Shebaa front:
After capturing the Christoph Heights north of Shebaa village, the Zionists advanced toward Sedana Hill west of the village and are trying to establish a new position there. Based on an old doctrine, the Israeli army uses natural heights and terrain features to control border areas. The occupation of five points during the previous round of fighting, along with the Christophe Heights, Sedana Hill and other points on Lebanese soil, is in line with this doctrine.

🟡Al-Tayri front:
After demolishing a number of buildings in Al‑Tayri, the Israeli army has withdrawn from the town. It is currently uninhabited, with no forces from either side present.

✍️ In short, no ceasefire exists on the southern Lebanon front. What was achieved on 17 April (through Hezbollah’s resistance and Iran’s diplomatic pressure, including the closure of the Strait of Hormuz) is in fact a de‑escalation that has kept both sides from striking Beirut and Tel Aviv/Haifa. This is the “Beirut‑Tel Aviv” equation that Hezbollah established in 2006 and which kept Israeli attacks away from Lebanon for years. The equation collapsed with the assassination of Saleh al‑Arouri, deputy head of Hamas’s political bureau, on 2 January 2024, and has only been temporarily restored by the ceasefire.
