دونالد ترامپ، رئیسجمهور ایالات متحده، شامگاه چهارشنبه گفت که پس از «گفتوگوهای بسیار خوب» در ۲۴ ساعت گذشته، دستیابی به توافقی با ایران برای پایان دادن به جنگ «بسیار محتمل» است.

ترامپ با اشاره به وضعیت نظامی کنونی گفت که توان دفاعی ایران بهشدت کاهش یافته و نیروهای هوایی و دریایی این کشور عملا از کار افتادهاند. او با بیان اینکه «ما پیروز شدهایم»، اعلام کرد که جمهوری اسلامی اکنون تمایل زیادی برای دستیابی به توافق دارد.
رئیسجمهوری آمریکا شرط اصلی هرگونه توافق را دست نیافتن ایران به سلاح هستهای و خروج ذخایر اورانیوم غنیشده از این کشور عنوان کرد.

🇺🇦 In some areas of the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson region, as a result of the crimes of the Russian occupiers, which grossly violate international humanitarian law, there is a serious aggravation of the humanitarian situation, - Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Of particular concern is the situation in Oleshky, Holia Prystan, as well as Stara Zbur'ivka and Nova Zbur'ivka of the Kherson region, where there is a complete lack of proper conditions to meet the basic needs of local residents, including children.
The population has decreased from 40,000 to about 6,000 people, in the city of Oleshky - from 24,000 to about 2,000.
Critical infrastructure has been virtually destroyed, and electricity and gas supplies are absent.
The settlements are on the verge of survival. Civilians trying to buy food or leave the city in their own vehicles are becoming targets for Russian drone attacks.

Ukraine took first place at the international para table tennis tournament in Montenegro.
Athletes from 41 countries took part in the competition. The Ukrainian team, consisting of 10 players, won 4.5 gold medals (one mixed team gold was shared with a partner from Germany), five silver medals, and one bronze medal.
Individual results:
▫️Gold: Maksym Nikolenko (8th grade) and Ivan Mai (9th grade).
▫️Silver: Lev Kats (9th grade), Maryna Lytovchenko (6th grade), and Vasyl Petruniv (3rd grade).
▫️Bronze: Natalia Kosmina (11th grade).
In the team events, Ukrainian athletes won three more gold medals and two silver medals.

On May 5, 2026, less than 48 hours after the operation began, Trump announced its temporary suspension by “mutual agreement” with Iran and through the mediation of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The U.S. will likely seek to extend the truce for a few more days, looking for one last chance to impose its conditions on Iran (which, being maximalist and unequal, will be rejected), thereby finding an excuse to resume attacks against the Iranian state.
On the other hand, “Project Freedom” was vague and limited: it is not a full armed escort, but rather a “defensive escort.” Iran has already demonstrated the capability to attack ships in the Strait of Hormuz with missiles, drones, and small boats, highlighting the operational difficulties and high military risks for the U.S., which would expose its troops to continuous attacks in that narrow passage.
